These birds are protected in FL, walk around freely in the parks, big yards in Odessa (Tampa) and restaurant parking lots begging peanuts. Illegal to feed one. :notsure:

Protected like the chickens in Ybor City. LOL - I am aware of the different bird protections in FL. My sister still lives in Winter Park and I have a brother in Naples.

Good morning. Up a little early for a physical therapy appointment at 08:30.

Finished day 30 on the Whole 30 eating plan. Going out to a restaurant for lunch down in Solomon's Island Maryland.

    Afternoon all:
Watching Sally's progress, hope Gary (Holeshot) has the hatches battened down and is safe.

Just finished up ANOTHER project I didn't need, I built another deer cart!
Both myself and my hunting buddy have good ones that we built, this one is going to be stashed near where we hunt. last year he hiked back to the truck twice to get his cart, about 1 1/2 mi. one way, and we came close to needing it again during FL which would have been just over 2 mi. one way. Enough of that, trying to make it as easy as possible.
Waiting on the 26" HD cart wheels that will be here today, it cost around $180 to build but overall way better than the cheaper ones that are available.
Yes, it will be well hidden and cabled to a tree!

    Evening all:
Ask and you shall receive Mike, the wheels came shortly after I posted.

First pic., it's ready to haul!
    Second one it's collapsed.
You may need to make yours bigger for those monster buck up in Maine!!!!! :D
The main section is 51" long, made to fit sideways in the back of my buddies Ramcharger, it will fit easily in the back of a PU with room to spare.
We brought both deer out last year on a buggy almost identical to this one, worked great.
The other one I made is similar but doesn't have the folding handle, that one is exactly 72" and just barely fits lengthwise in the back of a short bed PU, which is what it was designed for, it would never fit in his Ramcharger unless I modified it, I also have that one set up to tow with a mountain bike.

Pretty quick, used 3/4" shaft collars.
Need a 5/32 allen wrench to remove them, which fits nicely inside a round M&M's plastic tube with a cap, which fits nicely inside one of the rungs of the ladder with a little glue to hold it there. My buddy drilled though his axles and installed hitch pin clips, could have done that also.

Good morning all! I hope anyone in the path of Sally is safe!!

We are in the process of cancelling/rescheduling the 4th of 5 trips we'd planned for this year. We were scheduled to go to Antigua in late October but was notified that our flight was cancelled. We decided just to push the trip to next year hoping there will be a vaccine by then. 1st world problems but it puts a crimp in celebrating retirement. Ah well. More time to work on the truck, I guess. :D

In the same boat Mark. We had to cancel 3 trips but were able to rescheduled two of them for next year. The cruise we had scheduled we opted out for a refund. We were supposed to be on a Canadian rail trip right now but the company cancelled and offered a 10% addition to rebook. We rebooked and used the money for excursions. Last week Canada opted to keep its boarders closed till October 21st.

    Morning All.

X2 on Gary being safe Carl. Prays for all in the path of Sally. Nice deer cart Carl. It needs a little motor so you don't have to pull it out of the woods:D.

I think a few of us are in the same boat with trips Mark. We were planning on going away for the 3 months this winter but between the airlines rules and the destination rules for incoming tourists we decided to tough it out and stay home this winter:(. Now if I can only remember where my long johns are I'll be okay:).

Glad you were able to get a refund Tom. Too many horror stories of folks still trying to get a refund on trips they booked months ago that were canceled. Not too happy about Canada keeping it's borders closed, we were planning a trip up to Quebec with friends. Maybe if things get better we'll do a road trip to Texas to visit friends :fingerscrossed:.

Get all the information you can, crunch numbers and insurances Mike and just remember, only you can make the final decision on whether to retire or not. It's a big step in life. Good luck in your quest.

If it wasn’t for carol having cancer twice I wouldn’t hesitate. But that puts a whole spin on everything

Ken: I am not to familiar with how the Canadian providences deal with Covid 19 internally but on a national level it looks like closing the boarders if pretty effective.

Mike: My wife retired 8 years after I retired. Her Health Care insurance was decent with no real problems even though the carrier changed a couple of times. We are now fully on Medicare and have to see how this works out. So far I have had two minor problems with the Insurance Carrier. No matter how our income was impacted we seemed to do well. I expect the same this time with both of us in retirement.

I saw that over Watkins Glen once about 4 million years ago, during a race weekend. I think it was summer which would have meant the 6 hour enduro / CanAm weekend. It has a whole light show strung across the bottom! Very wild.
