We had four or five 100º days at the beginning of October - but on the way down now....... much better mornings at 65º! The local weather people are still saying +10º over the average. Still in the 90's every day for now.

The 100's will be back in May here in Tucson - is Safford a lot higher elevation?

Reminds me of my father who passed in his lower 70's. (Family trait), I was working on the family genealogy and he told me many tales, when it was of a particular juicy topic, he would ask me to put down my pencil. He wanted to tell the story, but also wanted it to fade away. Your poached egg routine is wonderful for you and your father. My father would always treat us kids to home-made hand cranked ice cream. One day I had made some myself for my family and had a big bowl left over and brought it to my father, he loved it so much, turned out it was his last meal. Enjoy him while you can.

Safford is at 3000 ft, so the extreme heats are shorter and slightly less intense. But, boy the sky is a lot darker than Tucson.

They do take your car. Problem right now are that fed laws differ. And states are walking a very fine line.

You can be on opioids and still own guns. The difference is cannabis is not backed by big pharma companies.
I am not giving up my guns, they're in storage in a friend's gun safe.

    Afternoon all:
Today my buddy was walking a deer trail looking for signs of use, he had the crossbow shouldered and when he looked up there was a buck standing there looking at him at about 20yds. Eye contact and movement to get the bow off his shoulder only meant one thing, the buck put it in high gear and hightailed it out of there in a hurry!:laughing:

Good morning, everyone. It was a beautiful 80 degrees here in northeast PA yesterday. &0ish today and then the bottom starts to drop out. Time to slap on the plow blades for the ATV/UTV.

    Good morning.
Going to pick up my truck this morning after having the fuel pump recall done.
Wasn't really having any problems but I suppose it's good to have completed for peace of mind.

Yea it's Saturday. When you retire every day is Saturday!
Good news on the fuel pump recall...I got my truck back and everything seems perfect.
My dealership actually made it a pretty pain-free process (except for the 45 mile drive, one way).

    The recall sucks.
Every car and truck has its own set of challenges
Extremely tight place to work on the Tacoma.
Things don’t always go as planned.
    Glad your off and running...

I guess 5 gallons aren't what they used to be.
Dead nuts 5 gallons on the pump and the container reads different...hmmmm.
I'm going to assume that the container is wrong. 20201025_090931.jpg

That gas pump probably needs recalibrating.
There are state agents here that check pumps and it's supposed to be a fine  or something if they come up short at all.
Looks like they shorted you 1/4 gallon or so and a 20gal fill up would have really only netted 19. Not good!

    Morning all:
I would find something that holds a marked gallon, then pour 5 of that into that 5 gal. container to check it, could also go to another station and pump 5 gal. into that same container and see where it ends up.
As already mentioned, container may not be accurate or the pump may need recalibrating, can only hope that if the pump is coming up short that it's not on purpose.
