I had a T100 that got predictable gas mileage on some long trips I made frequently a few years ago. I found a pump at one station that always gave more than the readout. That lasted for a few weeks. At another station I got shorted once. Never went back.

    Morning all:
Up early Mark, you are allowed to sleep in now that you are on pension! :)
50% chance of rain and none showing on the weather radar in our area, AND IT'S RAINING. Actually a good time to hunt, but we would be saturated in no time from the light rain, the wet brush, and the water coming off the leaves, good day to go back to bed!

Good morning Carl and Mark. Breakfast done now it is errand time. Off to BJ's club then to city hall and pay the water bill. Then off to Harris Teeter and a coffee stop at Duncan Donuts for me and the wife. Supposed to get up to 65 today so I will put the leaf netting on the pond in the afternoon. Chicken on the barbee for dinner. RETIREMENT is great.

Rain this morning! Not much - but water falling from the sky in any form is welcome here at the moment. We need a good downpour to lighten the fire risk - but the big fire zone northeast of Tucson earlier this year is threatening mud slides and other difficulties. A sporadic trickle would be best for a day or two......

Morning all! I’ve been off line for a while getting things done.
Rainy here and only in the 40’s now. Plan on pressure washing the outside garage walls today as I’m already going to be wet. Might as well use nature to help. Off to early breakfast with my wife before she heads to work.

I need to wash the house once a year, We live in a wooded area, so It would turn moss green if I didn't. Labor intensive, setting up extention ladders, moving the pressure washer, hoses around. I have also done it in a light rain, but don't usually. It's more a time scheduling thing for me, so if it rains and I've already started, I'll finish. I may not have any other time to do it.

Thats one (there are more) job I did NOT get done this summer. It is in the 30s now and that ain't gonna happen till (or if)) it warms up again this year. I got behind on everything this year with the new deck going on the house. I am into wood cutting now for next years stockpile. I still need to post some pics of the new Fiberon deck - soon.

Hello again, Porch Dwellers! Didn't mean to stay away so long, but I got into a "get it finished" mode before I had Angioplasty for my legs last week, and while it wasn't a surprise, and everything went well, I just sorta got "asocial" and just mostly vegged out between stuff. No excuses, just kind of "socially distancing!". All went well, and easing back into things. I stocked up the fridge; so grab a beverage and I'll tell ya' if ya want...

Had a low tire warning, and naturally it was on the spare. Discovered that my stereo head WOULD actually show my Toyota stuff, so that was good.
    20200904_143718.jpg
But lowering that spare just to air it up, or crawling under it to get to the valve is NOT what my old body likes to do. Had to fix that with a "Dad Duct Tape" solution. Works just great too.

More seriously, I needed to change around the greenhouse for it's real purpose of overwinter of the pool plants. So, I gutted the shelves for rework, stripped the drip, raised the whole thing 7" with two more 4x4 stacked on the frame, put pavers on the whole floor, cut the frame for access, re-did the shelves for the outdoor small pots, re-ran drip, installed my "drawbridge", and got the heater house ready for work.

Oh, made all the fairy lights straight to keep up with the ladies in the FB Greenhouse group. Thermostat control for the fan stack comes tomorrow. This week is a good test - I had to turn it down last night - the auto vents on top open at 60*, and I made 67*! Oops.

Gave my neighbor my old trusty Weber 22, and got this vertical smoker. Assembled it, and took it for one test spin. Need to try some ribs, and make sure I can do the turkey in a few weeks! Built a little rack for the wood I need (all scraps except the plastic). Space is a premium, so this sits by the shed, and holds plenty for me.

Fixed a rotted gate out front, and added some shelves to the shed doors. (Mostly for BBQ tools - but I left plenty to be nice). Made the wife happy by fixing tiny cracks in some bricks (house is breaking!) with a grinder and epoxy....

So, the truck! Yes, a little here and there too. Naturally, my cheapie front camera died after I made that housing, so I spent $1 more this time, and got the same brand as my rear cam. Needed a new bracket. And when I sealed up the doors and rear cab this summer for the stereo upgrade this summer? It made the K&N tube noise really kind of droning at 60 and above, and when the thrill of LOUD wore off, I kind of found that out. So, I did a nice $10 fix under the hood. And before the hospital, I got busy and at least detailed the outside and gave it a decent interior clean!

You WERE busy! Glad all went well with the procedure, too!!

We bottled the honey from our hives today - we have a 50% share so half of what you see is ours. Should last us for the year.

Sweet! :D I like that! We used to have a ton of "homeless" honeybees at our little tank pond. We have no idea where they lived, because they were there all day long. Always thought about making a little hive, but never got "aroundtuit".

They use a lot of water making wax for the honeycomb - we have them at our big pond and by the pool all summer, too.

And darn if I didn't forget our EXCITEMENT for the month! Night before surgery, and we want to go to bed early for early procedure, and we both were outside closing some stuff up in the dark with the dog. All of the sudden, we hear LOUD maracas, and the dog is going crazy at the fence. Wife says what's that, and I joke "Rattlesnake!". I got grabbed hard, but she went a grabbed a flashlight and went to get the dog, and damn, there it is! Think that mowing the field the day before drove it to the yard! She got her gun because I told her to, (made her feel better), then reminded her it's illegal to discharge in the city, so we had an officer come. He was thrilled because he was bored, and even had a snake grabber!
Next day, she's talking to a neighbor across the street. Seems the snake liked his front yard decorations, but the feeling wasn't mutual.
