    Morning all:
    Happy B DAY!
At one time I was 2x as old as you, now I'm only 1/72nd older than you! o_O

GURRR, fixed a wooden tree stand platform yesterday, took from about 9:30-4:30 to get it done. Darn thing is only 24x32", but as usual turned into a major project with everything involved! I have several tree stands, one is 15' high, one is 12' high, and this one is only 8' high. Each one is used for a different type of woods, this low one lets me see into laurel without being too high and having my vision and shooting blocked by tree branches.

Somehow, I didn't read that whole sentence! So, have another Happy Birthday today Ken!

And by judiciously working at an old guy pace, and needing more potting soil only once, I have completed all the repots and shaves of the 20 some hibiscus. (Shave is where I whack the root ball with a machete, to promote root growth over the winter.) Also split up the mother pineapple plant - which YES, did give us a real pineapple last year. I now have 4 in pots, and slow they grow, but worth it when you finally see one produce!

    In between.....
More low fashion work on LBR this week. Set out to replace the eFan controller last week, because the temp control would not adjust. Got a modern replacement from Flex-a-Lite via Jeggs, and it didn't work! I checked all my harness and it was still AOK, so while I waited for a replacement for the replacement....
I added a "manual control" - dang those switches cost more than I remember.

And I waited, so I put it on my bench, and after checking the TWO components, I put it together and fixed it!

I decided that the sloppy construction probably was part of the issue, so I siliconed the board in place on the bottom, put a plastic insulator between it and the metal case of the pot, and stuck some foam on the pot and relay to keep everything in place.

And back in it goes, replaced a push fastener with a screw because of the foam push, and added a power key wire (so that it turns off with the truck - I had it wired to stay on), turned on the gauges on the head unit. On it came at 185*, and I tweaked it for 190*.

And success all around. $50 more success if I get my refund!

Beautiful day yesterday.. winds down, sun out, temp. 60ish. Cleaned out the gutters. Re-wired my generator barn.. lights now come on upon power failure. Used an old computer UPS. New wall exhaust fan and a timer for cool down, new 4' led shop lights, need more light as I age gracefully.:annoyed:

Good Saturday Morning. I think I have recovered from being an Election Judge this past Tuesday. It was a long day. To everyone that voted thank you. There is so much more on the ballot than a Grand PooBah.

Tried to repair two fluorescent fixtures in the garage yesterday. Replace the ballast in one, success, replaced two bulbs in the other one, no success. Guess the ballast is bad in that one too. I will replace the 2 bulb fixture with a 4 bulb fixture today. I had a spare fixture lying around. When I moved in back in 1979 I had 1 incandescent light bulb in the garage. After today I will have 6 of the 4 bulb T8 fixtures. Let there be light.

Hanging a chicken in the Weber Smokey Mountain for dinner tonight.

Good morning folks. Was upstate for 2days and the weather was beautiful. Weather is really nice today and it feels like spring instead of fall. Not looking forward to winter. Have a good day all.

Thanks, It seems to fit the theme of the past few months (without getting political) of what cause some people were protesting for :).

What a gorgeous morning for a hot air balloon flight!! Lynn and I got to fly today - the best perk of being crew. We haven't started flying customers, yet. Hopefully by early next year. It was about 40 deg when we lifted off but the sun warmed the air so quickly I was sweating in my sweatshirt and light shirt. We landed at our local dairy after a 40 minute flight - nothing like champagne in the morning, plus the dairy opened early for us so we could have ice cream, too. Manning's is the very best ice cream!!! I switched to FB live for the flight so I'll grab some photos from someone else who flew to get some better stills.
