Good morning Ken. Going over to my cousins house at 1 today. Taking her and her husband dinner. She had back surgery on Tuesday. They just moved into a new house and she needs some more stuff hung on the walls. Her husband stumbled through the sliding patio screen door and the replacement parts should be delivered today.

    Evening all:
    Beautiful pics. Mark!
We were out hunting this morning and my buddy saw another buck that was in range I saw nothing. :(
Drove in the driveway and there stands a buck and a doe just on the edge of the yard :annoyed:, OK lets see, got out the truck and cocked and loaded the bow, looked over and they are heading into the woods. I then snuck over to a little shed and I could see a deer in the woods behind the small clearing behind the shed, then from my left here comes the buck through the opening and I made a perfect shot at 30Yds.
I could have shot at doe that were out in the yard during hunting season but let them go, a buck is fair game though when it comes to the yard!
Had called my hunting buddy to come down, I had field dressed it over in the woods and we were going to take it up to his place to skin and trim it out, was heading to the house to get the camera to take a pic. and he was sitting outside waiting for me, I forgot all about taking a pic.!:annoyed:
Oh well, the buck Mark has on the camera looks almost exactly like it, you'll have to take my word on that!

Happy Sunday morning all! Only leaves I have are in the pool again. Busting 24 - 30 mph out here this morning! Going to at least move the big pots into the greenhouse for a couple days, as we will have some low overnights - I have a feeling MIGHT touch freezing - and not going to fool me this time. Not going to trim them or set up the drips, as it should be very nice by end of the week.

Had a splendid time yesterday with a little road trip down South of San Antonio. A small number of us from the truck group had a BBQ line and Secret Santa out in our friends back yard and field. Easy to stay way apart, and since there were two Docs and two Nurses in company; seems safe enough. Almost everyone who's not retired like me has a job that is not public, and requires getting checked (at minimum) every day. So, while certainly not recommended for all, it was great for us. I got a nice cover for my K&N filter!

Here's a shot of the guilty trucks.

Afternoon folks. Waiting on the rain to come this afternoon but until then just taking it easy.

Congrats on getting your buck Carl. They have a keen sense of where to be on certain days of the year :). Time to stock the freezer .

    Evening all:
    Thanks Ken!
The pressure is off now that my hunting buddy and I both got buck. We each have 3 doe licenses, one of which is a DMAP tag that is area specific, might try to fill those and save the others for flintlock, neither of us is into shooting doe until it's a last resort, but with the bow or flintlock it's more of a challenge, especially with the flintlock.
Only problem with waiting for the flintlock season, there could be inclement weather where you can't even hunt, deep snow, ice or ice crusted snow, and rain can mess up that season big time. I think if each of us would get a doe we would call it a season and not even try to fill the other tags.
The main reason that we get 2-3 doe tags to begin with, not necessarily to shoot 2-3 doe, we hunt right on the boundary of 3D and 4C management areas and both are in the core area that we have both hunted since the beginning, so if we want to hunt the areas we always hunted we need both. The DMAP tag is for Hickory Run State Park, also in our core area, and also is in both 3D and 4C , SO if we would manage to get a doe there we would use the DMAP tag, which covers the entire park, and would still have a 3D and 4C tag left and not have to use one of them depending on which side of the Turnpike we were hunting, plus we could still hunt all of Hickory run with the 3D and 4C tags! o_O :annoyed:
That's what you run into when the boundary for different management areas runs through the middle of the places you hunt, when it was county specific they were ALL in Carbon county and one doe tag was usually sufficient.

Good morning everyone!! Lo of wind yesterday and some good heavy rains last night.

We lost power 4 or 5 times yesterday - longest outage was an hour and the whole-house generator worked like a charm. I also picked up an UPS for my computer, external hard drive and router - best investment I've made in awhile. It surely paid off yesterday not having the systems hard reboot 4 or 5 times.

Headed to a physical this morning. Time for that 65k mile service.;)

    Sounds like a PIA.
I used to hunt 3A exclusively, Mostly Northern Potter, little of Tioga and never crossed into another zone.
