    Ken:
I was going to move my data from an old XP maxhine to an upgraded Win 7 machine today, I decided to put that on hold today and take my sister out to lunch. It is her birthday and she had some knee work done last week. She lives on the eastern shore so there will be some windsheild time today.

Welcome StewartTX. I am part of the ogilvie clan myself. :)

Ken - it is made by Insta Gate. They were originally sold at Toyota dealerships and were made to fit the 99-07 models. There is a guy who still has them and sells them through eBay for $99 plus shipping. Well constructed and designed - well worth the $$.

God, I hate plumbing. If there is a way for it to leak it will. Every faucet and valve manufacturer has some genius who thinks up some way to make their product different from the others.

Welcome StewartX pull up a seat on the porch with the rest of us good folk...I am still locked into using XP for work as most of the diagnostic programs I use are only XP compatable...our IT guy tried setting them up on 7 but no can do...only 2 more years and no more work so that means the laptop can be windows 20:D by then...

Thanls Mark I am going to check it out...when we go upstate we pack the bed but some stuff gets left behind cause there is no room...thanks...

Hi Jim, seems like the older I get the faster time goes so the less gets done on any given day(or maybe I'm just gettin' slower:eek:)...

I try to prioritize Tom...put off till tomorrow what I don't feel like doing today...always works for me:)...

Hi Paul. last house had a well and all the plumbing was in the crawl space...3 foot overhead and I spent many an hour in the space replumbing:(...did the whole house twice in 22 years...Now our house has a basement with 10 foot ceilings and all the plumbing is readily available...

My Sig says it all Carl...VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV...

Have a good hump day all...Ken

Just checking in with you fine peoples...visit with kids and grands going well! Did the river walk yesterday. Don't think we'd survive here in Summer after being so acclimated to Alaska, but it was very comfortable in the 70s with just a touch of humidity yesterday...today should be a little nicer and getting steadily better through the weekend. Yesterday was kid's anniversary, so we watched the grands last night for them to have a date night. Going to the zoo today...packing a lot into this week!
"6" -- did I read that right on the bed extender...they're made to fit thru 2007 Tacomas? Might have to check on one of those when we get back home. I lost about 4 inches when I installed the BackRack due to offset for toolbox lid to open, might want that extra length of tailgate on occasion? How difficult would it be to remove/reinstall the few times a year I haul the ATV in the bed vs trailer?

Hope this finds you all doing well! God Bless! :):)

Just curious with all the Windows 7/XP discussion...has anyone else here thought about going Mac, or use Mac (Apple) now? I've always used MS at home to stay compatible with work, but that's no longer a requirement because I don't bring work home any more. Everyone at home now (wife, son, & I) are using Iphones, that's what made me start thinking about it. Anyone have any thoughts or advice on Mac?

Guess the "Can't keep up with it" is kind of my problem. Seems we're always warding off darn viruses or ad hijacker shtuff...heard Mac is less susceptible...I don't know? On windows Vista now, but use XP "look"...something my son showed us. I'm on the fence between MS7 or new MAC Apple machine...something to research when we get back home I guess? Well, better go see if Kristi is stirring yet...got my 6 hours and been up 3 hours now...take care folks.

afternoon all: yea ken; your sig says it all. never would have believed that, but have found out first hand that it's true.

here's the latest: rolled over a IRA into a roth IRA in 2010.
broker witheld PA state tax, and sent it to the state.
got a refund for amt. they witheld, because it wouldn't be due untill 2011, then sent it back quarterly.(why let them keep the whole amt. for the yr.)

now, when it's time to get taxes done, I find out that I didn't need to pay state tax on the rollover, only federal. :der::goingcrazy:
assumed, since the broker witheld it, I owed it.
comes under: the more you know, the better off you are. I'm really happy though, that I let the state use that money, intrest free, for over a yr.
now, when I get the refund from the state, I can add some to it and send it to the IRS.
oh yea, also found out that almost all my SS income is taxable due to the high income bracket created by the rollover.

^^ You are not doing it right Carl if you are paying the bloodsuckers one FN dime..Told them at the SS office how and when do I get this back. Worked forever paying SS each week then you go on SS and the bloodsuckers dont stop. Best way around it is to move your $ small bits at a time offshore... I like to face DC one time a Mo. and yell BITE ME!!! Jim

gottcha! but that rollover is killing me. I spread it over 2 yrs., so going to get hammered next yr. also.
if I would have claimed the total rollover for this yr. only, I would owe an additional 16K in taxes. :(
that's what the tax preparer said. :notsure:
