Good morning everyone! We got a bunch of snow yesterday and overnight - probably only a total of 6" but the temps were at or above freezing so it is mixed with rain - soaking wet and packed down hard. I went out several times to shovel the walk and area outside of Lynn's garage bay that I can't get with the UTV. This stuff is classic heart attack snow - next year I'm going to get a snow blower.

    Be safe and stay warm!

Welcome, Jake!! I've got a '96 BMW Z3 that we picked up in Germany new - had a '90 Miata before that. I've run the Dragon quite a few times over the years in it. There are a bunch of great twisty roads down that way like The Snake and The Diamondback, the Saluda Grade and a lot more that have no real formal names.

This one was taken during one of our Dragon runs.

Ugh I feel your pain, Paul. We lived in 22 houses in 26 years of being in the Army. Moving got to be pretty routine but it's never easy and the longer you are in one place the more you accumulate. I can't offer a ton of advice but one rule we set for ourselves was to always totally empty and put away the things in any box we opened. That way we could eliminate clutter of having half-empty boxes everywhere. It works well.

I’m in the same boat. If I retire this year I have my tool boxes at The shop to clean out.
I bought extra tool boxes but they are sitting in my garage empty. So have like 2 and 3
of everything. My plan is like going through everything and separating things ,organizing and bringing a tool box To the boy. So during my conversation He was of course happy and said I could come to his house and use them anytime so I wouldn’t miss them.. Nice try buddy..lol.
So I think I did a preemptive strike but it’s not going to be easy to let stuff go. Even if I do have
3 of lots of things. I’m thinking if I was going to work part time and do things I’d need those tools
Cause I don’t want to take things away from the house and.......

    Oh...also my quad is down!
After the last snow storm I was down the street and it started not running right.
Limped it my garage. I thought it was the battery since it was the original. I changed it. Still not right.
    Changed the spark plug...nope.
    Pulled and cleaned the injector...nope.
So it has to be either the fuel pump and/or the fuel filter...which of course are located in the gas tank.
So I need to turn off the heat in the garage and pull the assembly out. 20210104_055500.jpg 20210104_053950.jpg

Paul: I can tell you what not to do. Do not just put belongings into boxes and label with a room. 40 years ago it seemed like a good idea but it took me 2 years to unpack. Having a valid obtainable plan is the way to make a move. Granted I was a lot younger at the time.

Good Morning folks. Have a good day and be safe folks.

I was in the same situation as the two of you were and are. I was still working full time when we moved into our new house 17 years ago so our accumulated stuff of 22 years in the old house was boxed up and moved to the new one. After retiring full time, I would try to sort things out and would say to myself "holy crap, when did I get get all this stuff". Now after all this time, I have finally got a grip on arranging and labeling stuff(a lot of putting it off till later was laziness). Amazing how much junk I had saved with the idea of "I might need that someday" and that day never came. Hope all goes well for you Paul.

A little something every chance we get.
All this talk about the garage.....sigh. Mine was an explosion and I haven't moved! :anonymous:

Years ago it was nice, but work time crowded out organization, and it went boom! But I will see a good chunk of the new vision this week - spent yesterday painting more stuff for the back wall. This week, I will have some before and after I am sure!

Welcome to the first week of a NEW year everyone, and welcome to the porch to all you new folk!

I'm sure you are feeling the same way I do about age Andy seeings you are the OP for the 50 thread and here you are in the 60+ thread and I am now 72 and I was much younger when I started this thread. Before long, I will have to have @Tacoma Mike doing maintenance on my walker .
