I am also on the lookout for a stock tow hitch. I need to figure out if it will fit my 5 lugger first.

I'm going to go with the Hidden Hitch- it just bolts on without having to remove the bumper for installation. I found a place where I can get the hitch, pintles and plug-in wiring harness for $277, shipping included.

Well, I decided to check out eBay. I found the same hitch in a similar package-actually with a few extras that weren't in the original one I found (the original had 2 different ball mounts where this one has one but has a hitch cover and a hard mounted brake-light plug). Same free shipping for $224.

I just placed my order - still one left!!

Just an update on my friend, Rick.

Rick lost his battle today and passed on to the great beyond. God Bless you, my friend. I will see you again on the other side.

Sorry to hear about your friend Rick. When I hear of someone passing on, I wonder, whats it like, when will my day come? They'll never make a saint of me, but I do thank God for blessing me, my family with good health and a happy life. You wonder why some of us go so quickly. What caused them to be afflicted with something like cancer.

I hope everybody is enjoying their Sunday as much as I am. Beautiful, clear blue sky, mid 50's. Outside all afternoon. Yes, washing cars! Watching all the neighbors come out of hibernation. Had my neighbor come down and rave about my new Tacoma and yes I ate it up!

My condolances Mark. Sometimes the person knows when to throw in the towel. My borther in law did that after the cancer spread into the spinal column. He was one of the nicest guys I have ever known. He battled cancer for almost 5 years without any complaints or bitching.

evening all: sorry to hear this.
noticed some of the controlls weren't lit on the tacoma. just checked, and also have no tail lights or plate light. looks like fuse # 3 went kaput. gotta check it out tomorrow. wonder if there is a short on the trailer that I just used to pick up another sheet of alunimum, or if there's another problem.

I added a draw tite hitch to the tacoma. didn't have to remove the bumper, but had to support it so it wouldn't swing down after loosening and removing the bolts required to install the hitch.
was just ready to post pics. of instructions, but you should get them with your hitch, and it may mount different. the spacers that had to be used were a PIA to get located properly.

Carl, had an intermittent short in the wiring harness on one of my trailers last summer .... It would blow that fuse ... Controls you're talking about are heat & AC/fan speed/vent selector, right? I think it ended up being a bad splice in the tail light (running lights) wire. I'd definitely look at the trailer wiring. Good luck...took a while to find that bad splice on mine...hate wiring problems, especially the intermittent kind.:( --Rob

evening all: replaced the fuse this morning and all seems well. called my buddy and told him to check the wiring on the trailer, or he may blow a fuse on his vehicle the next time he uses it.

Yes we do...but going to visit was a good thing. Daughter in law is hitting us up with pictures 'bout every other day now. And my son installed that "SKYPE" (sp?) on Kristi's phone so they can video chat live from time to time. We'll probably visit again in the fall. Don't know if moving down there is in the cards or not. :notsure:

My brother in law (the one we visited over by Houston) was looking for an RV to use on his hunt lease down there. I've got a crazy idea in mind to go in on a Class C or something similar to keep at his place and have to use when we go visit. Figure it might be nice in the years to come to be able to pick up the kids and take them to see interesting places when we visit. We'll probably visit at least twice a year if not more. All the trips my grandmother used to take my brother and I on as kids really stick in my mind...figure the same would be true for the grandkids...kind of a way to make memories that stick. Does that make sense? :)
