Morning Gent's, Another day, a little wetter, but still better than the alternative. Survived Irene with no problems!! Even the basement stayed dry with one minor leak....Ken

 

yea! could have been a lot worse. thought we were going to get hammered with rain up here in the poconos. glad I opened up drainage ditches though. sticks all over yard,some running water, but nothing out of normal. lehigh river doesn't really look that bad,seen it a lot higher.

We lost power last night at 10:00. Back on this morning at 11:00am.

Not a lot of damage in the neighborhood, just a few trees down. We had over 7in of rain during Irene.

I did get the pond filter cleaned this morning. It started to rain yesterday so I put off the job. I did install the joist hangers in the new shed. I have decided not to wait for my neices boyfriend to help me out. I will plod along by myself. Carpentry is not my strong suit. I need to measure 3 times then cut once. I will let things dry out today and get started when I return from the gym tomorrow.

 

Hi Tom, you showed me the error of my ways, I always measure once and end up cutting 3 or more times. Glad you made it through Irene okay......Ken

 

That's ok, as long as the first two cuts leave the piece too long.

 

Still raining off and on. Not a good environment to use power tools in.

 

It' always the third cut that gets me !!!

 

Wind is picking up here pretty good, rain has pretty much stopped.

ha ha! like that about measuring. you're all right if the first two cuts are too long. been there done that. going out to clean up yard now. am beginning to hate trees.

 

geezer checkin' in...60 yr old retired merchant seaman...i guess you could call my truck a"mall crawler"...but all of the malls here are shut down,so i guess it would be a "walmart crawler",since i'm retired all i use my truck for is transporting my german shepherds to training(club level schutzhund) and my grandson to basketball practice..dang,i need more coffee..off to walmart!

Slowley working on the shed. Almost have the soffit in the front completed. Well back at it the break is over for now.

Good for you man, By the way another retired 64 years young over here and just finished Appalachian Trail.
