    Morning all:
Looks like a good time at the shooting bench between two old acquaintances Mark.

Very handy tool to have Tom, my neighbor has one and for it's size it's amazing what it can do.

Just saw where they are now saying that only about 800 billion from the unemployment fund was fraudulently sent overseas, unbelievable!

I love to see pics of our Tacoma's earning their keep.

The fraud does pose one of the biggest political arguments facing America today. How to detect this fraud without increasing the size of government oversight.

Started to rain, heavy at times, yesterday afternoon and continuing today. I have a BJ's run to do then I think I will get started with a cabinet repair in the garage.

:pccoffee: Good Morning and Happy FriFriday Porch folks! Going to lay the rest of the sod pieces today, redo the new greenhouse exhaust fans, and maybe get the Larry Shields on the pool ladder. Then, I'm done for the week, and ready for tomorrow ride!

Always great to see an old friend Mark!

There was a bit on the local news a few weeks back about Texas contribution to the unemployment fraud (sizable), and how dang easy it was to get it. Which really annoyed me since my son could not get a cent after being furloughed. Nor could he make any headway in dealing with the State. So, he got nothing.

Now you're going to have to ride the dirt roads to get dirty Tom!

    Have a great day everyone!

    Morning all:
The statement about unemployment fraud wasn't meant to be political in any sense, hope it wasn't taken that way.
Apparently UC can be applied for online and they have no idea who is applying for the benefits and just send out checks. Things have changed, especially with the pandemic, but when I got laid off I had to go to the unemployment office in person, just seems like the latest, greatest, advances in technology are opening everything up for fraud or hackers demanding a ransom.
Some of the fraud they are mentioning is also double dipping, collecting and then working under the table, that's nothing new.

I certainly didn't take it as that offensive political stuff Carl! What was amazing to me, the "old fashioned cheater fraud" was nothing compared to the modern scammer!

Another beautiful day here in N. California. Today is honey do day. My wife is an artist and during Covid did a lot of painting. Just got a bunch of her paintings back from being framed and matted so my job is to hang them . She’s then having a bunch of people over to view them so my job will be server of hors d’oeuvre and wine. I of course will sample the eats and wine. She doesn’t sell her work but does give many away to friends. After that I’m going out to my garage and putter around. Happy Friday to those who still work and happy Saturday to those who don’t. Be safe.

Here’s one simple one she recently did and being a fisherman I really like it. It’s a rainbow going after a fly. Rather than paint a fly she used one of my hand tied flys and attached it to the painting. (I’m a fly fisherman) Looks great in person.

Well, I was informed last night that "you are getting rid of that bush in the middle", so plans change.....

    20210610_161708.jpg

And the rest went out behind the sunroom, where is wasn't great - 5 more pieces than the plan.
    20210611_115822.jpg

The whole point of the grass out front is that Rex will have a place to go under a roof when it rains. Which, will now be in September!

And I moved my exhaust fans, which took longer than it should have. And added 3 Blink cams to the system. If you have Blink, good values in their pre-Prime Day sale.

    Good morning everyone!!

Yesterday was cooler here - don't think it ever got above 70 and was breezy. Today looks to be slightly better.

I got the field mower out yesterday and spent a few hours knocking down brush. That thing is pretty awesome - a good buy that my father-in-law made. But, it's a beast to maneuver, especially on hills. It gives you a workout.

@Oldie2007 - Kurt, what type of exhaust fans are you using? I need to put one in Lynn's greenhouse.

No big plans for today. Think I'll play with the Tacoma a bit.

    Be safe out there!

I tried to get unemployment once, many years ago. It was easier just to get another job, which I prompty did, on the way home from the unimpolyment office.

These are the fans I put on my vent panels, Mark. They were only 3 lbs., and the auto openers can lift 15 lbs. Most CFM for the buck, and the lowest Amps I could find, so that they may convert to a solar inverter at some point. 250 CFM, and they are quiet.

Carl: I did not take your post as political at all. Unemployment, disability, and welfare fraud just pisses me off. I believe in a helping hand policy but to people in need not to persons that scam the system, they should be caught and made to pay restitution. The governments that dispense these funds have an obligation to the citizens to police the programs.

Today I start to work on a long due repair in the garage. I need to reattach two wall cabinets to the wall. The cabinets are over 30 years old and the frame of both cabinets are coming apart. I have several options for the repair but need to start the project to finish. I also purchased a jack to assemble. The jack raises and lowers a zero turn mower so my son can clean the mower deck and remove the blades for sharpening.

Poking this to y’all on my iPad while sitting comfortably in my hospital room. Second visit this week. I almost certainly have Lyme disease, possibly also another one transmitted by the same creeping, minuscule agent. I came in for the symptoms of disease #2 (Erlichiosis) the first time, they sent me home, symptoms returned, and here I am again. In the interim I found a huge bullseye rash on my shoulder. So the second time around we had a bigger picture to look at.

Bad news: your symptoms are not Lyme related and can throw off diagnosis.

Good news: doxycycline knocks them both out.

Folks in deer tick country, they’re really plentiful this year! Consider taking extra precautions.
