Wife has had both knees done. I wanted her to do it for the last twenty years and she avoided it. Now she wishes she did it twenty years ago. Hope your surgeon is good, and your recovery swift.

    Good morning all plus Susan,

Ken I wish you well. The surgery you won't remember. You will probably be in the hospital overnight. I was with both of my knee replacements. Get used to a walker and those sexy stockings. They will probably put you on a blood thinner to control blood clots. I take Eliquis. I also used 2 pain killers also. No driving for a month and get to physical therapy as quick as you can. I am sure you should do your therapy at home all day also. and The surgery should be approx. 45 minutes to 1 1/4 hours. I didn't have knee bending problems. It was straighting the leg out. The hamstring muscle shortens up and needs to be streached out. It never got back to straight. The pain killers I was on were Norcol, and Tramadol. So blessings and keep us informed on how you are doing. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
    Russ

:pccoffee: Good Morning porchies, and GOOD LUCK Ken! The food is much better when you can't move anyway. Follow instructions, and see if you can get Pool Therapy included in the recovery! It makes you feel so accomplished!

Playing with round black rocks today.....

Ken , half or more of my old fart friends have had the knee surgery. They’ve all done well and some of them run around now like 18 year olds. Get your ass back here on the porch asap. You’re in our prayers, God bless.

For those that don’t know, Basque food ain’t Spanish food. Like all regional foods almost all we get here commercially is not quite it.

The food in restaurant mentioned seems to be the exception.

Basques are indigenous to and primarily inhabit an area traditionally known as the Basque Country (Basque: Euskal Herria), a region that is located around the western end of the Pyrenees on the coast of the Bay of Biscay and straddles parts of north-central Spain and south-western France.

Basque food is different from Spanish food. The Basque restaurant we went to is owned and run by Basques and the food there is authentic. There are a lot of Basques in Nevada. In Spain the Basques have wanted independence from Spain for decades. Great people, great food.

Hmmm ... fickle witch says no to my afternoon lawnwork plans here. I'm ok with that. Cool, cloudy and breezy with rain coming...feels like nap time.

Be well, safe, and happy all.

Thanks Pops. If all goes well I should be released after a one night stay. Asked about the food and the young lady said she heard it is pretty good. If not, I can call for pizza .

Thanks Kurt. I can't do pool therapy until the wound heals then we have an indoor heated pool as well as an outdoor pool in my community and I will definitely use them when I can. Was already told to bring sturdy shoe or sneakers as I will be having PT as soon as I wake up from the anesthesia. That is good(hopefully).

Thanks Ken, as it stands now only one night in the hospital and then home to my wife/nurse/whip cracker(for doing exercises)/boss/cook/caretaker. Many in my community have had replacements an like you said, run around like 18 year olds. :fingerscrossed:

    Aint retirement Grand Mike:D:thumbsup:

good luck on the knee surgery. had mine rebuilt about 3 years ago. therapy is your friend. my flex came on great but the hyper extention took some time and streaching the ACL to get it was the worst part. Good Luck
