Good to hear you got a good nights sleep Ken.

I like the wisdom of those paraprosdokians Tom, I am always intrigued by the wisdom of proverbial phrases also.

We are doing well, Rob. Currently just doing a lot of trimming/mowing ..... it's that time of year.

Just glad we survived that polar blast that hit us in February. Was in the single digits for a couple of days, and at 0 for a few hours one morning. This part of Texas was not designed for that. Everything at our well (insulated pipes and all) froze and busted. The cast iron booster pump we had replaced late last November simply cracked. Our well service guy could not get new pumps (from the east coast) for some time, so we were without running water for five weeks. Had to rely on neighbors and a lucky find at the grocery stores. I HATE sponge baths. All that and the rolling blackouts and it was a bit of a stress. But, we're both old and know how to survive!

    Tex

I'd like to add one more:

    It's not that I don't trust you, it's simply that I don't trust you.

I remember that coldsnap, quite a darn mess for ya'll. I think my BIL in Pearland was on generator for like a week or something.

I never doubt the survival instincts of the Cool Old Dudes here.;)

So much this...and it's getting worse. Outta the 40 or so folks I work with directly and regularly...I can count the number I trust implicitly, without checking behind them, on one hand. Which is really a sad and worrisome deal. :frusty:

My truck dealer sent me an email ad for a security cover to protect against cat converter theft. Photo looks like a pop-riveted tin shield. Maybe it's hard enough to defeat a battery powered disc grinder? Where do they get the people who think this stuff up? Looks like a sure way to set something on fire!

    Speaking of the cooler...

I've been drinking Mike's Hard Lemonade occasionally because I don't care for the taste of beer, and mixed drinks are better where they come from a bartender... Mike's Hard Lemonade is pretty meh, but for me it's better than beer. But I recently tried their Mike's Hard Marguerita, and I found it pretty damn good. Good enough that I'll buy it again and forget the Lemonade. Maybe give it a little extra jolt by adding a half shot of tequila?

But I also found Jack Daniel's Lynchburg Lemonade, Southern Peach, and they also have a watermelon flavor. I'll take these over wine coolers or soda pop (carbonated drinks give me muscle cramps) any day. And generally better than Mike's.

Would anybody drink them if I stocked the cooler?

    'Morning porch dwellers.

Still working on enlarging refrigerator space in our kitchen cabinets. No one was willing to tackle it, so I did. So far, so good.. not done yet, but making forward progress. Still have one upper cabinet to trim, 1/8" more to remove from Corian countertop edge. Slow work and major cleanup every day.. very fine dust everywhere, but not toxic. Nothing is truly square, level.. figured that going in.
And of course I used this project as an excuse to buy a couple new tools.

Good morning porch sitting folks. I need to retire so I can do this full time. The unusually wet weather is playing havoc with my wife’s sinuses and my arthritis, glad it’s only temporary. Ahhhhh the coffee is done, have a good one kids.

So I buffed my headlights again. It was only like a month ago that I did it and I could already tell the difference. So this time I sprayed it with UV protectant. So we will see how long this lasts.

A little something every chance we get.
Sealant makes all the difference! Until they finally just start peeling, then they lose focus. In your climate, that should last a long time!

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals and Gal! hey, who emptied my coffee? Saturday, and time for the new project! Clean it up, and inventory all the small stuff, and see how long this project will be good for!

Great job Mike, they look like brand new. The sealant/UV protector is the key. I use Meguiars 2x a year and they remain clear.
As I understand it when the lens over time gets cloudy and oxidized the lens has lost it’s built in UV protection. When we polish the lens it removes any UV protection that’s left. Unless we put some kind of protectant on them they get hazy quickly.
