A little something every chance we get.
Correct. Both polycarbonate and acrylic require UV stabilization. Poly will yellow, acrylic will get very brittle. With stabilization, both are used, though poly is most commonly used for cost. In the lighting industry, we used both. With much higher wattage, it was tough to guarantee 5 years, so 10 year headlights are amazing. Also, why cheap replacements don't last, low cost additives. If you can keep them clear and protected, that's the key to longest life. When hideous ones get restored, the treatment won't last as long, because the material is breaking down internally.

Interesting day setting up a new PC. Pretty easy but it is a learning curve going from a Dell XPS to a Dell Inspiron. No as much room in the box and limited expansion space. I added a 4tb hard drive partitioned with 3 areas. 1 for archived data, 1 for backups, and 1 to download apps into download apps into. I have an extra 8gb RAM card coming today and will finish the install and migration. I am holding off on installing a DVD drive, I just do not use an optical rive all that much. I may upgrade the 256gb SSD to a 1tb SSD but I am in no hurry to do that either.

Interested to see how long the protection lasts. After buffing out I use a synthetic paste wax with UVA/B protection and it usually last about 6 months.

Yep, these fancy new lights start to deteriorate as soon as the sun hits them. They can be a PITA to change and cost a fortune. Yea, a whole lot of improvement over sealed beams with real glass.

An improvement for the headlight manufacturers bottom line that is.

I think the idea is to make it difficult enough to make the thief look for easier pickings. Mine is aluminum, easy enough to defeat, but time consuming.

Don't know how I'd take any pics. There is not enough room under the truck. It would take a super wide angle lens, with the ability to focus at a few inches.

Our workshop yard was recently robbed - cops said they most likely did the deed with a battery powered 4.5 inch grinder, seems to be the burglars tool of choice in Tucson these days. Cut hardened 3/8 chain - no problemo. Our fab guys are slowly inventing something to replace the chain and padlock - shop owner is "tapping his foot" in the mean time.

I have no problem with prisoners being released if they were put in prison for possession of pot. In fact it is long overdue. But it seems like recent programs to empty prisons are letting the thieves out too. Seems a recipe for encouraged vigilantism.

Well, nothing really went wrong, I just move slow.
I washed everything, and sorted out the parts...wasn't terrible dirty, but it's cleaned and treated with Back to Black, so like new!

    20210626_120818.jpg

Once I stopped playing with the water, it got hot on all that black stuff, so up went M.A.T.H. 1011 (My Academy Tacoma Hospital).

    20210626_135058.jpg

First thing to figure out is what to do with this Aux. panel I put in the side cubby door. Won't be able to get there anymore.

    20200713_160821.jpg
    20210626_135921.jpg

Got it boiled down to a 3 wire extension for all that! A little research tells me I can put it on the end of the ammo box.

Does it work Wednesday? Yes, and Saturday too. The cover for the old holes? Wait for it.........

    Cut up garden edging. Yup.

Everything works. Have to rout on the voltmeter hole a little - it doesn't have enough thread. Quick connects let me separate the box from the bed. And I will make a shield behind the wiring.

    20210626_172635.jpg

So, tomorrow, on to the frame for the system. Supposed to have some rain, but I have shelter! Maybe!

    I agree.
The more I buff the quicker it seemed to yellow.
    Stuff dries real fast.

Good morning everyone, I had decent luck with a Turtle Wax kit on my 02. It was a once a year thing though.

I like what you did with the power outlets.

THX for the link. Even with a CAT protector there is no love for the 2WD Tacoma's. If I buy another Tacoma it will be 4WD.

Today is clean the pond filter and a minor shed repair, some trim boards need to be replaced.

The new computer is installed and is a big improvement. I might add a DVD drive but I have to see a need first. A new monitor will happen next month. Some of the new monitors with high resolution and higher refresh rates are pretty inexpensive.
