The only fish tape I've ever used, and I was once into building substations so used them a lot, were metal. They were a flattened (spring?) steel, stiff wire, with a hook that was part of the wire. I've been reading the responses and as far as I know they are pretty good information. Personally I'd forget the loop and just use the hook the loop attaches to. Why complicate it? Wrap the entire connection with electrical tape as small as possible and lube generously. As far as the 90's, they can be a bitch. The first one not as much as the second. If you can fish the tape from the far end with a coat hanger or something, at the 90, it might come easier. Drawing the attached wire back should be easy as long as your connection is tight and you don't lose it, you can get the connection past the first 90, and the run is straight.

I have and still use a flat metal fish tape. Use electrical tape to wrap up the loop on the end of the tape even when pushing the tape through the conduit. If you need to lube up the cable to pull the cable back to you I recommend Yellow 77. Been using the stuff since 1968. Amazon.com : yellow 77 lubricant

If your tape is still stuck try loosening the tension then turning the tape in a clockwise circles while gently puling the tape back to you. If that does not work try the same procedure turning the tape counter clockwise.

When the tape does not advance try the same turning procedure while pushing the tape.

Hope you were able to retrieve the tape and successfully fish the pipe.

Morning folks. Well yesterday day was a great beach day. Even though inland temperatures were in the 90’s, it being a Monday the masses stayed away

Today is shaping up to be another fine day. Since weather complaints seem to be required here I guess I’ll complain about using the AC for a bit yesterday.

No it wasn’t too hot, the neighbors are re-roofing their house and it’s a bit dusty. So inconsiderate of them;).

Looks like my wife will be kicked out of her Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital today. Yippee.
Still, a ways to go, back to ostomy shopping and supplies; TPN for home care, they will have her slowly reintroduce liquid diet after a month of ice chips.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed as everything seems a bit rushed.

So glad your wife is improving. Sending prayers to her. You are a hell of a good man Tom. Thank the Lord she has you. I know things are tough, but keep thinking positive, you two will get through this.

That is GREAT news, as that kind of news goes! Glad to hear it Tom! Putting up more Karma you can keep near her chair at home.

How goes the wire pull, Sue? I saw some other comments, and you might have existing wires? Obviously, no one here has bought a Fish tape in quite a while!!

SO,....what'd I got in the box? :notsure:
    Stuff! Long stuff!

OK, ok. I saw these on Ken's, and when the time came, they would be the next steps. :rimshot:

GoRhino Dominator D2 steps to replace the Predators. Carol complained, then said she didn't, but I can't bend right to use the step, and then stick my knee under the wheel, so we both needed more room on the step. And there we have it. I will say only it took all afternoon, and my plans to not get up and down were all thwarted! But I still made fajitas! :hungry:

Tom: Good news for the Wife and you.

Today is a music lesson, hair cut, and pork chops for dinner. I have not decided on using the Blackstone or the Weber Pellet grill to cook the chops. Getting ready for a Canadian Vacation next week.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gals! Man, I am sore. Thanks for the kind words. Wish my organization worked out better yesterday. Got errands and a haircut today, so a chance to break those steps in. Not sure what else; got another paver project, but I'm not ready yet.

Thanks for the tips guys. Picked up the slime yesterday, but due to threat of rain, didn't try. It will be the only wire in the pipe.

Happy to hear your wife got sprung yesterday, Tom.

So upset at the moment - took the girls in for shots and neither the tech nor the vet are any good at drawing blood. Zoie completely freaked out now. Sorry, but you should be able to stab once, and not have to keep moving the needle around inside to try and get blood. And, yes, every time you move the needle is a poke. If you did that to me, then I'llbe asking for someone else to do it.

Good morning everyone!! Beautiful day yesterday. Got the first coat of stain on two windows in my den that I've been avoiding doing for 2 years now. And, I crewed a hot air balloon flight last evening! Another scheduled for tonight if the weather cooperates.

    Be safe out there!

Going to my Sister's beach house in Ocean Pines MD today. Wife and son are going to a concert tonight, I will catch up with my sister over dinner. She lost her husband to cancer earlier this year.

Taking a few tools with us. She needs some landscaping timbers cut and a TV hung on the wall in my niece's room. Tomorrow is a crab feast dinner. Back home on Saturday to attend a Jimmy Buffet concert.
