A little something every chance we get.
OK, after I mowed, I decided to go pick up an item that came in Academy, so I showered and went off on errands. Pond filters can get cleaned tomorrow, as that can easily be a pool side event. And I needed gas. So, naturally, I ended up making something simple just ridiculous. I decided I would just run down Hwy 80 a few miles past Martindale to Fentress, and save $0.25. Not far out of the way, and worth it with the truck. Then, I kept seeing flashing lights, and expected to see someone pulled over. Which, I never did. And we got progressively slower and slower. We'd go over a rise, and I would see more and more lights. Must be a funeral. Mr. Garmin seemed to know something more than I!

Behind a work van, so I really couldn't see. Then we got a bigger hill. The "procession" was ALL flashing lights as far as I could tell. And all oncoming traffic moved over and stopped - all the time. And we came to a stop at 130/80 interchange. I saw a vehicle block the exit to 130, one block the exit off 130, some went over the bridge and stopped all traffic. I pulled out just enough to be able to see. There must have been 20 or so Sherriff's vehicles, all Hays County. The Deputies all met in the middle of the road, between all their cars, and seemed to be discussing things! I tried to get where I could get a pic, but then they all moseyed back to the cars, and headed back the other way. They ignored all the traffic they blocked, and just headed off..... I have NO IDEA! And to make this all worth while, the Valero not only had just shut off all their pumps, but the bathroom was out of order. Went all the way to 80/I-10....

Good morning everyone!! I pretty much did nothing but lay around the pool yesterday. Lynn's one sister and her husband stayed overnight and we had lunch by the pool before they headed home. Retired life.

Think I might cut the grass today - or tomorrow depending on how we things still are after the rains of the past few days. Decisions, decisions.

    Be safe out there.

Mornin’. Up too early again. Spending the day outside, under a canopy. Should be hot. Taking plenty of water and Gatorade.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gals! Nothing on the agenda but the pond filters and about a dozen little back yard putzes, never far from the pool! Going to reverse sear some tenderloins and make some twice baked potatoes later on - I've grilled on my little path every night now! Supposed finally break 100 this weekend, and they've got 50% chance of showers both days! Figgers - it' my watering night!

    Have a great day. everyone.

Grass cutting day for me, mid 70s here and low humidity. Perfect! Still doing the work for a paycheck thing but getting closer to retirement. Count down is underway..........

Good morning everyone!! Decided not to do any work yesterday so it's back to (retired) work today. Finally going to cut the grass - 3 hours of listening to music.

I put a new solar cover on the pool yesterday. It was supposed to arrive on Saturday - Fedex delivered it yesterday afternoon. It needs to be cut down just a bit so I'll let it sit on the pool and then trim off the overlap that's on the walkway on two sides after it warms up later today.

    This retired life is tough!!!

    Be safe out there!!

    Morning all:
:annoyed: Bear pushed the drain pipe over in the pond AGAIN, looks like plan A didn't work too well. :(
Started another project I don't need , I started building a deer cart like I have for my fishing buddy Jim, he bought one that didn't hold up, the plastic rims broke, I think the ones I make will hold up way better and should last him a long time.
I ordered HD 26" cart wheels for it last night, hopefully by the time they get here all the fabricating will be completed, THEN---I will DONATE it to him! :)
Both him and his dad do little things for me that are much appreciated and also take time, I try to return those favors whenever possible, I think he will appreciate the deer cart.

Finally got to troubleshoot my RH turn signal which has been out recently - and not quickly solved by a bulb change. Found the lead was rat chewed in the tiny space behind the windshield washer reservoir. Wish the manufacturers would cease to use soy based plastic for automotive electrical loom, etc. Doesn't seem to be limited to Toyota ...........

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch People! Looks like with on again-off again rain, I might just have to work on the garage again this week....nothing else but putz on the list. It would be useful to finish off some things I left messy I suppose....

I'll have to edit some security video Carl - my fight seems to be with the Racoons.

I have a male cat that I started feeding just enough to keep him coming around. He'll sit on a front tire, to stay dry and warm, and listen for critters in the engine bay. If he hears one, he goes after it with a vengeance. He knows to vacate when the truck unlocks.
Racoons!:annoyed: I trap them with a 220 Conibear in the opening of a cat litter bucket, and a marshmellow in the bottom. Works every time.
