Dammit... Despite isolating in separate rooms and wearing a mask inside the house, and avoiding being anywhere close to each other, my wife was running a slight fever last night and had begun coughing. She probably got it from me before I realized I had it. So today she goes in to be tested and then hopefully she qualifies for the antibody treatment. We've got a doctor that's on our side (his father died of covid before vaccines came out) so I'm expecting access to the best available.

What a weird deal. We really thought we'd beat it already. Living in an area with few infections, early vaccine, and keeping to ourselves. But we've been pretty lax about wearing a mask.

My arm did not start to feel sore until 11 hours after the shot. The soreness peaked that night and vanished the next day. On a pain meter it might have been a 1. I had my 3rd poke on monday.

Praying for you and your wife to get better quickly.

Today is planting pansies out front and going to BJ's club for some items.

I washed the Tacoma this morning and then took the M1911A1 down to the little range we have here at home. I familiarized myself with how it shoots and then shot a 7 round magazine, rapid fire at 20 yards. I shoot a pistol left handed - my natural aim point is just a bit low/right and I pushed one round. Not too bad for a 76 year old .45cal pistol and a 66 year old retired Army Colonel.

Devious 6--Neat pistol. I'm surprised that with its history there is no sign of the famed "idiot scratch."

Edit: Your second picture is clearer. The scratch is there, just not as bad as some I have seen.

    Good shooting.

Rapid fire at 20 yards all center mass, damn fine shooting colonel!!! 76 years old, you’re but a youngster. The 1911 has always been one of my favorites.

Yup... the wife tested positive but doesn't qualify for the antibody IV.

That's hard to take... but she seems to be doing better to begin with than I was. In fact even with me having the antibody IV she is coughing less.

But we'll be keeping a close eye on this and woe to anyone that fails to take my wife's illness seriously if things go south.

I quit after 4 beers in. No ill effects whatsoever, just like the first 2 shots.
Feel more confident to travel now. Be in Reno next week to see the UH play Reno. It's going to be great getting off this rock.

I can imagine what you could do if you actually turned around and looked at the target…

    LOL

    Very Nice.

There is nothing that’s not serious with this. Things can turn in a heartbeat..
A hint of change needs to be looked at.

    So it’s mostly done.
Had to modify 3 things and have done two.

    Sounds Good.
    Much fuller tone.
    Has reverb
Not much difference in volume but the sound penetrates the air.
    Easier to hear..
So,some minor tweaking but I think it was a good project..
