Thanks!! And the same to you!! It was awesome to be able to donate. They had one of the red cell extractors there so I volunteered to do a Power Red double donation. Really cool.

    Evening all:
    WOW, WOW, WOW!
I knew it was bad from what we saw during archery season, but we only heard 5 shots in the general area we were hunting, none that were close, and maybe 3 distant shots, both buck and doe are open. Thanksgiving afternoon and Fri. would usually be big sight in days and almost no one was at the range, also during the prior weel or two. PA is losing hunters and our game commission is wondering why!!!
There are some buck in the area because there are rubs, but not that many considering the size of the state game lands we are hunting.
One more day in there and we are out of there unless something changes, then we can go to another area that probably isn't any better!!!
I sat with my buddy's grandson, I had my rifle but never even bothered to load it even though I can still hunt bear or take a shot at a coyote, there's a first time for everything!

In my opinion they're doing the right thing but they're way too late to start this. They should have done this years ago.
Probably back in the 80's and 90's I took 3 different kids (junior hunters) and every time we had and I don't know how many doe that they could have at least try to shoot at. But they couldn't because doe where not in season.
This was a craw of mine. They were all 1st or second year hunters. The chance was they probably would have missed anyway.
Try and drag a kid out of bed at 5am...get dressed...sit out in the cold and not be able to at least shoot.
It bugged the hell out of me!

Come to Missouri - we have to dam many -many days this year I have counted as many as 10 in my city yard. I think bow hunting is allowed in season in the city.
Maybe if we had a few less in the cities ,I could stop having to putting cages around our Hydrangeas and Hosta's

Good morning fellow Porchies! I woke up to 1/2' of snow coating the ground and driveway...so far.

Yesterday's blood donation process was way cool. I felt like The Borg - I have been assimilated.

We got our Christmas trees up and decorated the house for Christmas yesterday, too. I think I'll put the lights on the truck today.

    Be safe out there!!!

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Peoples! Yesterday was a fun for me day of college rival games - love it! Rained all day long here, getting 0.88".
Out to the garage to get the Christmas lights out and up outside. We'll do the tree and inside stuff tomorrow, when everyone is here to get the attic crates. That's about it!

We're doing it, my buddy's grandson who is 14 hasn't seen a deer in 2 days, neither have I or his grandfather, really makes a kid want to hunt! We are hunting areas we have hunted for years and "HAD" loads of deer before Pa went to DEER MANAGEMENT. Believe me, there are more deer in the developments than on open land in our area anymore, or on posted property with both farmland and woods.

I will investigate Red Cell Extractors. I donate within a local hospital system. The blood stays in the area, state and the District of Columbia. With the Red Cross the blood can go anywhere in the world, some donors like the distribution worldwide. I prefer to keep my donation local. Donate today. My first donation I was 20 and up a phone pole at Camp Tien Sha in Vietnam. I was up a phone pole fixing a dead phone line when a Naval Corpman came out of the hospital Quonset Hut and asked me my blood type. When I answered he said come with me. I did and giving blood next to infantrymen wounded in action made quite an impression on a young guy. I have been donating ever since that experience.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porchites! Fixing to be a pancake breakfast, then crates from the attic, and we shall decorate the inside. Dad burgers for dinner. I'm pretty sure it's a Monday, so y'all make do best as you can!

Outside decorations done yesterday, so on to broken vehicle stuff. Friday getting gas, a little spring clip jumped out of the RAV filler door. Could not see where it went right off, so I pocketed it, filled up, and closed the door. Got home, and naturally could not open it again. Turns out Google and YerTube are filled with just such predicaments. Found the right part, ordered it, then epoxied the old one back together. It only needs to work once!

Because of course it finally broke, when I was changing headlight lamps. Top bracket on the washer reservoir been cracked since I got it. Got a new one from CarParts.com (which I only thought I used before, but was a good site to check for such things) Even came with pump and new hose.

Last fix yesterday was the climate control lights. About a month ago, it was actually dark when I went somewhere, and I noticed I only had one side of the assembly lit. Ordered some yellow LED, because I thought they would be the right color, but way too dim. Then ordered some white LED, AND the regular haolgen bulbs. Along the way lost the fuse, went to having NO lights; finally ohmed out the light pads to make sure they worked together, spray cleaned the contacts, and back together. Back to little halogen bulbs, and would you believe they have polarity? I would not, but they do. Have some spare white LED (that I had to file out the opening for!), but I got tired of messing with them, and they are saved for later.

    Evening all:

    Here ya go!
On the local Craigslist for only $180, not that long ago they were 1.2c each, or $12.00 per thousand, ah the good old days!
My bet is someone desperate will ante up and buy them since they are extremely hard to find, and I thought the guy buying them up at the auction we went to was nuts for paying $140 per thousand!

I would have thought you might use JB Weld to fix the washer tank. LOL I wonder if that is how my 2009 Tacoma panel is illuminated. I will check that out. I liked the greenhouse pic.

This thread is amazing. I would never have thought that the primer would escalate in price so much and that fast.

Going to our broker today to figure out the best course of action concerning our annuity today. Wife wants to set up an account that can weather the fluctuations of the market. I do not mind paying taxes but paying taxes on a large movement of money is hard to stomach, plus it does affect your gross income for the year.

I use JB and his cousins for a LOT of things, but that tab was all spider webbed anyway - no way it would hold. I thought about making a metal tab riveted on, but.... it's 14 year old plastic for Pete's sake!

And your panel will be the same as mine. All the troubleshooting threads you find won't be much help, as people do the "I live with it", and "must be a little ribbon cable broken" solutions. I never saw anyone realize the lamps have "polarity" (which must be physical on the tabs - I can't see it), because until you get BOTH lamps in the right way, you can have NONE, ONE, or the OTHER. I marked them with a little paint pen so I knew which way I tried last, and then I got it. LEDs will probably have an electrical polarity, but halogen?

You are correct, LED's do have a polarity. LED, Light Emitting Diode, are a diode. Diodes only allow electron flow in one direction, so yes there is a polarity. It is almost impossible to tell if you guessed right when installing the lamp until you turn on the panel. If it does not light up simply reverse the LED in the socket.

:rofl::rofl: I spent a few decades with those little electrons. There ARE, though, "non-polar" LED, and some of the replacements offered in the dash LED I looked at even said so, most did not. I expected polarity with the Yellow LED I tried first, and sure enough had to turn one around. But it was way too dim overall.

    20211118_180112.jpg

So, when my next order of some White LED and the halogen "standards" came, I marked them and tried the white. Now, these had 3 little LED where the yellow had one, so, I expected brighter. But, the little circuit board was wider than the mounting hole, so I had to file it open a little. Then I marked them, and put those in - ONE light (no pic) looked good. So, I went to pull it out, the little mounting legs came loose from the plastic, and I blew the fuse. Took the panel back out, tossed the offending LED, put 2 new marked ones in (after filing some more), and still got the same passenger side only. That's when I said hell with that, took the panel, ohmed out the panel, cleaned the contacts, marked and put in the haolgen. THIS time, I got only the driver side! So, pulled again (learned my lesson), flipped the passenger the other way, and finally BOTH. So, the halogen have "polarity", but it has to be something physical I can't see in the plastic where it makes contact.

So, if you just randomly install incandescent replacement, it's entirely possible to think the panel is broken until you get BOTH lights installed correctly. Three of four ways will not work!
