    Bought myself a Christmas present

Sick of the roar from the salamander while working on big projects.
25° Outside and about 60° with this thing on low.
So I’ll heat the place up with the salamander and switch.
I can even hear the radio.. lol

Yet another successful Christmas in the books. Trash day tomorrow, better get started bundling cardboard from giant recliner boxes. Otherwise, trash pickup won't take it. Stuff is like plywood.
The older we get, the more attention we pay to these important family gatherings, you just never know. This one was a great one, and we are thankful. Here's hoping yours was also.

Yeah, Christmas is done for another year. Getting ready to make the drive back from Ocala to Tampa this afternoon. Going to be another exercise in 3-D Tetris to get everything packed in the car. Can’t wait till we make the move up here and we can stop commuting.

:pccoffee: Good Moring and Happy First Friday of the Week fellow Porchies! We get grey, damp starts, and beautiful afternoons this week. We've had 3 days practice!
Glad to hear all the great Christmas results!

Hmmm; if I get one of those, it would never snow in Central Texas! I don't think they sell them here, though....
Yes! That's actually what caused all the problems with last year's Texas storm.

 My SON Mikkel - but THANKS! We're gonna let the damp burn off for a while, put the hitch on the jack and roll it under there to see what we really have to do. Instructions are worse than the none that came with my shocks. Be simple enough once we see it in place.

It would be awesome if you could put it in stock location with the cross braces..

Who makes that? Model? I assume you're running it off a propane tank. Right?

Santa brought all new water pump, crank pulley, tie rod ends, ball joints, and sway bar end links for the Taco but I am on “truck restriction” until we move. I never thought Santa would implement an incentive plan.

Yeah, I'd have liked to put the one back that was on there. "Factory Curt hitch" (apparently dealer installed), that hung below the bumper. But with the bumper swap, it didn't fit. It looked like if I sliced off the top mount (horizontal) brackets, it would fit between the bumper mounts inside the frame rail. But it was about 1/2" too wide. Too much to pound in there.
So, I got this custom fit for the bumper one. Hitch exits through a flip up plate holder. I could give a hoot about the ground clearance of the old one, but there is simply nothing else.
And I could not convince any of my welding friends with :spending: or , or both :spending: and , to help me custom cut the solution.

    Yes sir propane

    Mr Heater
    80,000 BTU.
I could have gone next size up to 200,000 however the propane usage was outrageous.
Our Christmas party was in my unheated garage.
Had 3 electric heaters on the perimeter to equalize the temp.
This model was a tic above low and maintained 70°.
So between this and my 115,000 btu salamander I’ll be warm..
As a estimate I think $1.25 an hour for heat. 14 hours on low with a 20 pound tank.

We put in a mini-split when the garage was built. Probably not as toasty as your flamethrowers but keeps it comfy enough to work out there all winter. Plus it dehumidifies in the summertime. This is the only picture I have, taken during our paint work.

Sold out on Amazon... and the Mr Heater link leads back to Amazon. That's a nice buy. I'll have a wood stove but that would make a nice addition for cold spots.

Mine isn’t insulated. Few reasons for that decision.
    Same with only 3000psi cement.

Well, short a few washers, and not finding the bolt to remove on the DV8 bumper, which apparently isn't a TOTAL All-Pro knock off, we had to lower the spare, and got it rotated in and bolted up.

Naturally, the plate holder bolts were locked up and had to be cut, so have to fix that. And look where that cinch pin hole is! Behind the front of the bumper, above the chain plate. That will be fun!

I'd put an extender in there, and reduce the "not rated for towing" hitch load by 50%. Today, I'm just not enamored with the OR aftermarket industry. But my paint job IS nice and glossy!

Shortest I have found so far is 7", so I would even have to modify the plate mounting!
I'm going to stick a tape measure in there, and see how long the reach is for a drop hitch. I MIGHT tow once a year; if it fits - I can get under there and pin it up that often!
