Spot on. We got the 5" forecasted, more out by the road. Haven't seen any vehicles yet. They usually start running ~4am. Plows will have to open the road first, can't get anything up or down "the hill" until then. Evidently my satellite dish heaters are working, grocery run yesterday, etc.
Should warm enough to melt next few days. Too much to melt in one day, it would refreeze to ice, so I'll clean it up while it's frozen. Then replace the kitchen faucet I've been putting off. Two tasks I don't relish.

:pccoffee:  early birds! We're getting the same dire forecast but when I look at the radar it seems like the worst of it might slide further east and miss us. Time will tell, snowblower's gassed up, I'm retired, so whatever happens happens.

@RustyGreen I never saw that game but my dad and I used to make a game out of identifying cars by their headlights as they drove towards us at night. We did all right; dad always got more of them of course but I held my own. He used to let me sit on his lap and steer too. That was a real thrill. Imagine doing that today...

Speaking of cars, I did a little project on one of my toys yesterday. The work went well, but it is one of those things that I learned to do by googling and reading posts on a marque-specific discussion site, and I like to try and document my work as I go just in case I can add to the knowledge base. I got busy taking pictures and forgot to finish tightening a set of screws -- which I remembered last night laying in bed! I woke up thinking about it of course, so I got up earlier than usual, fed the cat, and marched straight out to the garage to make it right. No time like the present.

Welcome to the thread. Throw up a couple pics of the Tacoma.

Wife told me to hold up on the mulch till next week. Raining today and too cold tomorrow. My cousin is going to Florida for a wedding celebration today till next Wednesday. I will be taking her husband, my lunch partner, out to lunch on Monday or Tuesday, whichever day he feels up to the task. Otherwise, I will bring him a lunch both days. Today I am going to try and clean the garage. Both my work benches are a mess. It is raining and 47 here this morning.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals and Gals! It's warming up fast from the 24* overnight low, and already 38*! Make 50*'s today, and repeat. Cold and ugly yesterday, so a lot of plotting got done! Son will be home this afternoon for wife's birthday week celebration; she has selected fancy burgers! Brunch at the Bistro tomorrow for her. Next week, back to the 80*s, so I smell a lot of yard and greenhouse work coming up.

So much for my forecasting skillz! We have about 4" of snow on the ground and it is still coming down hard. I know all of this because I was outside getting the generator fired up because, that's right, the power is out again. I hate that groundhog.

Thanks but don't have any pictures, my external drives were stolen then main computer crashed. Weather is usual rainy stuff on/off so it just looks wet. Stocker but it's still my Daily Driver.

We just had a light dusting yesterday but it's been cold again. Maybe get back into the 40s tomorrow and 50s later in the week. So I'm staying inside and staying warm today. Made a huge batch of waffles to freeze for later snacks. Drinking coffee and learning how to edit videos to upload to YouTube on a new computer.

Both my truck and boat needed gas so I went and filled them this morning. My Taco was was down to a quarter tank (I usually don’t let it go below about half when I fill it). The boat has a 40 gallon tank and was around half full/empty. Regular 87 octane is $5.59/gal. When I finished the bill was over $230. Fishing just got a lot more expensive. If I go to my favorite lake it’s 100 miles round trip. I have to pay entry and launch fees. My truck gets about 10 to 12 mpg pulling the boat. The boat doesn’t exactly sip gas. Fortunately I mostly troll and I have a little auxiliary trolling motor with which I can troll for hours on a gallon of gas. Just starting the big engine seems to move the gas gauge toward E. With gas prices, launch fees and miscellaneous costs I estimate depending on how many fish I catch the cost of each fish will be between $30 to $40. The outdoors, hunting and fishing are a big part of my life so I guess I’ll just grumble, complain and cuss and keep on fishing.
All I got to say is#$&@#$#%$$#*@.

    Afternoon all:

YOU HAD TO REMIND ME, not quite that bad but if I run out to the river those walleyes are going to get expensive.

Looking good here, maybe 2 1/2" of wet snow.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!

Ended up with 6" of wet snow here - bottom layer was slush in many places as the ground temps were warm enough to start to melt it. The snowblower didn't like that stuff at all - cleared it just fine but I had to take it slowly. The temps continued to drop so even after snowblowing/plowing everything froze so I have a layer of thin ice on the driveway. Warmer temps this week so it should all clear.

We like stock Tacoma's. Mine might be a 5 lug EX cab but I have done a few mods to the Tacoma. lol

Lazy day yesterday, rained and flurries all day. This morning it is 25 outside. Today I will be smoking ribs and chicken on the Weber Pellet grill. I ordered some Jealous Devil pellets to try out and they came on Friday. I have had the grill for a year now and I am still trying out pellets to select one brand I like. So far Lumberjack pellets are winning the contest. The burn is consistent and the flavor is noticeable.

:pccoffee:  Happy return to Daylight Savings Time! I swear even the sun came up earlier today.

We got a bit less after all was said and done; even though it kept snowing it didn't seem to get any deeper. I think it was melting on the bottom like you said. Our snowblower did not mind it, but we also have a skating rink for a driveway this morning. I'm counting on Mr. Sol to take care of that, and so far he's doing a fine job of it.

Yep! Mine is essentially stock too, down to the steel wheels. Plus it was a basic model to begin with. I added intermittent wipers, which is as easy as changing out the wiper switch, plus a backup camera. That was easy too because all of the wiring was already there and all I did was plug stuff in.

Filled up the Tacoma. 15 gallons, $60.00

I bike on short trips (grocery store, doctors appointments) anything less than six miles, ride there. Costco is 10 miles, but good exercise on a hilly route. Typically coffee, nuts, and vitamins are Costco items. The advantage is knowing I have two panniers. I'm not buying much, so that saves money. The challenge is when I need bulky or heavy stuff (TP, Paper towels, dog food).

My latest thought is to convert one of my three-wheel trikes to a "mid-drive" e-assist. Small motor to assist when I have a trailer (20 pounds) loaded with 80 pounds of dog food. $1600 in parts (motor, adapter, battery, yadda). Damn, that adds up. Wait, that's 400 gallons of gas. Three-year payback, less wear and tear on the truck. My most significant advantage is to kick into "high assist" on the way to the docs, so I am not dripping in sweat when I walk in, then turn off the assist on the way home (leg day!) followed by a shower.
