LOL... the BIG stuff. Sorry about the funeral...

Nothing to celebrate, or future plans, or even a bucket list?

The panel directory can't be trusted to be correct. Plug this into the outlet in question, turn on the switch to the outlet, if there is one. Run the sensor down each row of breakers, fuses. It will beep on the correct one.
This from experience.. pop the breaker out, put it in your pocket while you're working on the circuit. Think safety. If there are others around, leave the breaker in, take the wire off, put the cover back on until you're done. Think liability.

Kurt: This is the light strip I am looking at. Philips Hue White & Color Ambiance Outdoor LightStrip 5m/16ft (Requires Hue Hub, Works with Amazon Alexa Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant) - - Amazon.com

I have quite a few Phillips Hue products and have found them to be extremely reliable. I was going to attach the strip to the extension, folding, arms of the awning and across the front bar. This is the awning I purchased from Costco. It was 20%off at the time of purchase. SunSetter Premium Retractable Awnings | Costco

Today is lunch with my brother, sister and their families at a local restaurant. Get the laundry started and out for some live music tonight.

That should be great Tom! And if you have other devices in the Hue family, you are already familiar with their setup too. And is it just me, but does that photo of the SunSetter show it magically floating over the patio? o_O

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gals, especially someone named Susan, who I hope is enjoying her first Saturday of the longest weekend, by not being up yet!
Son is coming over to put the replacement valance under the front bumper of the Prius, and I will probably start with putzing the truck re-wire. Got my veggies potted, and need to put some drips in - once I find the line I stashed!
    Happy weekend thingie!

Momentous week here (not) - got spring planting done - immediate hailstorm (AZ?) - first rattlesnake of the year on the back porch (RIP) - tile installation still not complete. At work, searching for a forklift engine rebuilder - apparently the shipping department has failed to utilize the dipstick and oil filler. Such is life, right?

I did manage to get a previous co-worker a promising lead for a suitable job. He's been working at an auto parts store sort of marking time - not using brains and talents I know he can bring to bear. Hoping for a good outcome there ........

Congrats Susan! Sleep in a few times and show yourself how to relax!!

    Morning all:

    AHHHH, the morning after!
Yesterday was the first day of Pa trout season and we made our annual first day trip to the river. This year I only went about half of the 2.8miles to where we usually start, we had to really work for fish, but the three of us managed to limit out. Not too bad walking in, or navigating the jagged rocks along the river, it's the steep 60-70 deg. bank that we need to descend and then climb back up to access the spots we fish. That 20yd. or so high bank always been a killer, sometimes navigating jagged rocks, then soft soil with wet leaves with sticks under them, good thing there are a lot of small trees to grab ahold of or it would really be treacherous. That place beat me up when I was young and is still beating me up, I think every muscle in my body aches!
On the bright side, my buddy and his GF only saw 2 other fishermen, I didn't see any, not too many places in Pa. on the first day of trout where you can catch limits of fish and not see hordes of fishermen, that's why I've been going there for many years and my buddy and his GF decided to join me.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Peoples! Slower than expected Darth Previous (black Prius) repair. Needed to replace this (could only hope the part I ordered was really what it used to be!)

    20220321_155621.jpg

Seems some mounting tabs we were going to need weren't there anymore. Supposed to be 5, we had 1 1/2 left.

Not to be deterred. Dad has aluminum stock, a saw, and drills. We make some tabs. Find a place to bolt them in.

And, we can install the replacement valance panel!

Spent the rest of the afternoon watching the dogs play with our neighbor, then got cleaned up for a nice little Mr. Taco dinner out. So, truck work today.

Winter storm warning until Tuesday. Yay. The ground was already impossible. I guess lucky to have three raised beds complete. Need to build 6 more. Should have done the building in the fall.....

American ingenuity (a declining phenom) at its best.

So now a couple of questions. Why did you replace it? Did it look bad? Create a weird noise or less MPG? Overheating? Just because it's supposed to be there? Curious...

The panel was "broken" when he got the used car. About two years ago, more of it broke and was scraping along. I told him we could probably replace it pretty easy, but he was saving up monies.. So, some Flex Seal tape, just like NASCAR, and some black spray. Last month, it gave up, and most of it was dragging & loudly, so he came by while in Lockhart, and we pulled it, and I set about ordering the replacement. And even more assorted hardware (can't have enough!) than I already had. So, yesterday, we made it "new"! Going to be hard to tell if it brings the MPG back up - he's regularly 50+!

Kurt: Most motorized awning manufactures use a hinged lateral support brace, both sides leading away from the house, connected to both the rear and front bar supports. Supposed to handle winds up to 25MPH with some gusting. There is also a wind sensor, that is adjustable, if the winds pick up. I do not intend to have the awning deployed without ne being home. I will snap some pics for you as we install the awning.

Hope everyone is enjoying the Sunday.
