I've resurrected two totaled Tacomas. Both had frame damage in the left rear. We can replace an entire frame due to rust... but we can't replace sixteen inches of frame rail? The dollars I spent to repair both of these trucks was so minimal, my time so little, and the results so good I'll probably never buy another vehicle with a clean title. I'm driving a Taco for half what anyone else is.

People are being sold the idea that repaired vehicles are worth less money. Why? Because everyone except the customer is making money if a vehicle gets totaled.

    We should be ranting.

Or at least educating each other.

Wonder if water filled, damaged, water leaked out...it's now a kite? Just theorizing.

A little something every chance we get.
On a safer note, the ribs did almost exactly what I wanted today! I'm so thrilled. Wife even ate 2 more than usual.
It's 3 1/2, 1 1/2, 1 with less beer, more rub, less BBQ glaze. Using the right knife, I could actually make ribs out of them!

Garage boxes had progress too! Almost up to 2 boxes cleaned and purposeful. Ordered some more organization. Putting things I NEED and USE on the top bin of every one. THAT should keep me from using them to stack stuff on!

    @Sprig
I’m surprised that of all the comments made about your accident, that nobody has mentioned the fact of incompetent management of the road safety system of barrels of water/sand. Your insurance company has no interest in pursuing reimbursement from the State highway department, but you are on the short end of the deal for your trouble, your pain if any, your inconvenience, anguish, dashed plans, etc.
I’m not litigious, gosh, so many times I could have been, but you certainly do have a legitimate claim, and may not even need a lawyer to realize some justice.

I'll be darned if you don't make a legit point here, Alan. Interesting perspective I never thought about.
I reckon that's why you're the old man here, very wise my friend and mentor. :hattip:

Alan, this happened at 5:00am in the morning, on a rural road , no one was around. I had to drive a mile plus just to find a place to pull over and inspect the car. Unless I wanted to hang around for several hours to contact someone there was really nothing I could do. As a non injury accident I didn’t really want call the police/ highway patrol. If it would have been light I would have taken pictures of the scene but that wasn’t possible at that time of day or at that location. I have no evidence or proof of anything other than I have a bashed in vehicle. I thought of trying to pursue something but without proof and dealing with another state from hundreds of miles away is an exercise in futility. I have a good friend that is an attorney and I’ll talk to him but I doubt that there is much I can do. Had it been daylight and workmen around things may have been different.

Many times like that, you think of what you would have done if you had time to think about it! Next time, throw the barrel in the back seat and take a picture of the scene, and another pic of a road marker nearby. Your wife did you very well with the glass of bourbon, but I bet you could have put it to better advantage at the time of the accident!

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

One of the guys on our balloon crew flys a drone and gets video/photos during set up, take off and landing/take down. Here a a few from yesterday.

Take off from the Lackawanna State Park

    279214927_10158853947953494_2639963121178266888_n.jpg

And landing at a local airport - the Gods were kind and took the balloon right over the airport so it made for an easy recovery.
