    No offense taken.

I can joke about now. When I see her around being a storker It's bring back old memories.

With my son being under 10 years old, he's a little creeped out but know grandma has issues.

The little guy is on a mug he Missus got for me at a shop up in Quebec. It is called "F*#k La Mode" which they say translates to F*#k Style. Got my son a T-shirt with him on it as well. Kinda matches your avatar Mike less the wrench :D (i'm retired from turning wrenches ). Hope the weather gets better so you can get some "You" time on the lake. Have a good one.

Good Morning Folks :hattip:. Happy Wednesday to all. Next couple of days we'll be taking pictures, etc off the walls and moving some furniture around so the rooms can get painted. I hate painting but the Missus found a good painter that is very reasonable with his pricing (worth every penny as long as I don't have to wield a paint brush). We supply the paint, he does the work:thumbsup:. Life is good. Have a great day folks. :oldglory:

Good morning everyone. Off to the Doc's for my annual check up. No coffee in the AM is hard to take. After the check up it is time for my second booster shot. Prime Rib roast for dinner tonight.

When we lived in Arkansas we heated with wood. I had a friend come out so we could help each other, and he brought his two McCulloch chain saws. I had my Homelite. We adjusted, sharpened, and started the saws before we left the house and they all ran fine. A quarter of a mile away we carried the saws into the woods to start cutting and neither McCulloch would start. Took them back to the house and they started right up. Went to the woods and they wouldn't start. Back and forth three times, the saws running fine at the house and refusing to run in the woods. Machines can be fickle...

Don't I know it!! Went down to the mower garage where I keep the chainsaws - thought I had a new chain for the Stihl. Right manufacturer....wrong length. So, I'll be heading off to the shop to drop off the Echo, grab a chain for the Stihl and run a few more errands this morning.

My 20-year-old lawnmower does this. It's a heat soak/fuel vapor. Carry a spark plug wrench, pull the plug. Five minutes in the sun to dry it off. Put the plug back in, the mower starts rights up.

I suspect a light film of fuel vapor coating the plug, so the spark doesn't jump the gap but it dissipated. It will drive you nuts but use a really light film of anti-seize on the plug threads, spark plug wrench in your pocket, and pull the plug, wait five minutes, try again.

My favorite weedwhacker is a Shindiawa. Despite the name, it was a good American Product made in Oregon for years. Echo bought them out a few years back, but other than replacing fuel bulbs and gaskets (parts still available) I've had it for 25 years. Ya, it does like fouling plugs but is easily taken care of.

Still need to get my Index Milling Machine cleaned up and listed on Craigslist. I love making my own tools and things, but slowing down and have had close calls that could have removed fingers. Sigh, time to sell it while I still have all my digits. I have to admit Sunday morning and needing a special tool and realizing "I could make that in 20 minutes" was a blast. Our front loader washer machine stopped running, inspection found worn-out motor brushes. Non-replaceable cage. Got to work, machined out rivets, drilled and tapped the cage for 4-40 screws, and had brushes from my Land Cruiser. Belt sander, new brushes, doing laundry 45 minutes later. What was amazing was the German Spec diagram showed screws and brushes, USA spec said "replace motor assembly" $4 for brushes vs. $300 for the motor. Those pressed rivets saved about 4c in screws during manufacturing. The same washer still in service for 20 years, with no wear with Toyota parts installed. :)

I'm 7 miles one way from the repair shop, 10 miles the other way where I bought the Stihl. That's the upside of northeast PA - relative peace and quiet but still close to stores, etc.

Darn if it's not as busy as last night in here! I'd like to be like Mike, but small engines hate me, and I have converted virtually everything to battery power. I can normally handle the rest of the contraption's mechanicals. But, I'm not Mike.....

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gals! Happy Hump Day Indeed. Start humping a new project. I'm as done as I'm going to be with the tool boxes for now, everything looks like my OCD friend's! (Well, almost everything - I don't have THAT much space!). Cleaned off a couple shelves, moved pegboard hooks around, and they are done for now - lacking more useful types/sizes of hooks. It's been far too long since I had it looking like I like it, way too long. Now, to get rid of that stuff in the middle of the floor!

On to a new project today.

One of my more challenging "won't start" mowers was a backfire that sheered the woodruff key. Rotor jammed with a 45-degree advance. Oh boy, kicked like a mule trying to rope start that engine! Fuel, Compression, and Spark were all present. The catch was spark was at the wrong time, oops.

Another old mower was a junkyard rescue. I brought it home and cleaned up the carb. I got it running with very low compression, so it acted like a mosquito fogger. One gallon of gas, a quart of oil, and lots of walking in an oil fog. Not suitable for your lungs. So fired up the lathe and machined an adapter plate. Small little piece to hold the blade, one hp surplus eclectic motor. OK, when I had my old house with a small lawn. Circa 1990. Later I added a headlight to it to quietly mow the lawn at 10 PM.

During the cleanup, my antique Chromebook expired. Likely battery, or perhaps supply. For the price of which; refurbished Samsung via Amazon. Now tunes are on PC, and I can again lookup those handy YouTube videos! That's all it does out here. Worth the extra $ for large pixels!

Once it had my email, it set itself up in about 2 minutes! Since I can't change that part of the world, I'll just be happy about it.

Funny, I just got a new dell that is windows 11, but I still have my old dell that is windows 7. Some things I just can't figure out how to do on the new computer so it's easier for me to just use the old one. But the new one allows me to upload videos to YouTube, the old one wouldn't even recognize my gopro 9. And it couldn't even digest the memory card, lol. Sometimes old is still good and sometimes it isn't.

Absitively! I have my Win10 Dell that I have rebuilt all the memory it supposedly can take, and a huge-a-mongus SSD, along with it's Borg drive velcro'd on the cover. But the Chromebook I got cheap when I was trying to stay off my work laptop for anything personal. Son recommended it; I hated it. But, when I rebuilt the Dell laptop, I sent it to the garage - and Google can do Sirius and You Tube look up just fine! But, it had been sending me warnings that my Google would go obsolete in June. And then it just died. So, for $60, I've got the latest in a refurbished. And, it even had all the Dell / Google stuff waiting for me when it got started. Even TW!
