    Morning all:

Sorry to hear about the DIL Mike, hopefully she will get back to normal in short order.

We hit the lake last night, Jim got 1 small walleye, this year isn't looking good at all!

Can't like the DIL breaking her ankle Mike, prayers and positive thoughts going out her way. When the going gets rough, family gets going  and jumps into action to help.
The ramp looks good and hopefully it will serve her well. Hats off to you and the Missus for taking care of the Grandson to give your son a break.
Wishing all of you the best during this time.

It's the fault of Global warming Carl...LOL. Hope it starts getting better once the monsoon season in PA is over. Have a good one and be safe.

Kurt, thanks for the heads up on the thread checker. Too many odd nuts and bolts around here, so a handy item!
    CKE Nut & Bolt Thread Checker (Inch & Metric) - 26 Male/Female Gauges - 14 Inch & 12 Metric
    Brand: CKE

Greg: Old Lithium-Ion Batteries are often good. 4.2V per cell (full charged), so it's a string of batteries. They usually go a full 7000 cycles, but the string is dead if one goes bad after 1000 cycles. You can tear down battery packs, check each cell, and build new packs.

EGO uses cooling and unique sleeves (heat-absorbing rubber) for the long life of those cells.

Often those "no-name replacement battery packs" are built from salvaged cells. It works OK but may not note having the same endurance.

Lots of youtube videos go into detail. It's just a heads up not to toss old battery packs but rebuild them (replace that one bad cell).

You may not be mixing oil anymore, but mixing "balanced packs of cells" to keep those battery-powered tools running for years. 50V is the threshold between "ouch that hurts" and fatal shock. Hence the "52V" cell packs are really 48V but charged (grounded plug) at 52V.

Gonna be 92 degrees here in Northern California today. Pool time!!! See if I can still fit into my swim trunks. You can’t beat NorCal valley weather. Pleasant warm spring, warm/hot summer, Indian summer fall. Oh and not to forget, no, zero, nada humidity. I both love Northern California weather, geography, and things to do (fishing and hunting is damn good too) and then there are things I hate but I won’t go there.
Garden is completely planted and growing like crazy. I expect tomatoes and other things by early July. Already harvested first crop of radishes and spring onions.
Gonna hang out on the patio and grill some prime ribeye this evening. Life is good here. Enjoy your day porch peeps.

Yup I hang on to the old battery packs. Do I have time to go through them and test them, no. Maybe when I retire, if I ever retire. And then there's the box of old nicad batteries in my shop that should be rebuilt. You used to be able to have them rebuilt for cheaper than new but not anymore it seems.

Hey, my son was there checking out the iron! Sent me some pictures. He said there were hundreds of cars, too many to see them all in the time he had.

I'll have some more random ones in a while - after making dinner! Got my second booster after mowing - I don't think that's what slowed me down! It's a good crowd normally.

Spent 5 hrs. mowing today and not done, still too wet at the bottom of the yard and would tear everything up if I tried to mow there.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

Sending thoughts and prayers for fast healing for the DIL, Mike!!

Loving those pictures, Kurt!! But, where are the BMW Z3s and 4s???!!! ;)

The weather forecast for yesterday morning said it would not be flyable so our scheduled passenger flight was cancelled. Man, was the prediction wrong!! Luckily, we had a second balloon scheduled - another pilot who is working on completing his commercial license so he can carry passengers. His balloon is a rare 1981 Adams pop top - one of the last flying in the world and in it's final year of flying. Crewing it was a great experience. The pilot was able to do a "slash and dash" - touch down on the water's surface of a lake and then fly on.

Our flight for this morning is cancelled, though. Fog, low clouds and chance of scattered thunderstorms - the weather folks got this one right.

Ramp fits like a glove. Wishing a speedy recovery for the DIL. I like the awning.

    Susan:

Retirement just keeps getting better. Enjoy.

Our city Farmers Market opens up today. I did not see a vegetable vendor listed on the city's website. I will find out. Our market is small compared to other farmers market. During the C-19 era we have dropped from 3 to 1 vegetable vendors. I miss the small vegetable vendor, they always had great tasting vegetables.

Gutters are cleaned. All four downspouts were clogged and needed to be cleaned out. My son did a great job on the roof. When we finished that task it started to rain again so the planting was not done yesterday. Hopefully that will happen today along with putting up the wind chimes.
