The car was co-developed by BMW and Toyota. BMW drivetrain, a lot of the interior electronics too. Toyota designed the body. BMW has their own version in the latest Z4 roadster. Toyota reportedly busted BMW's butt over reliability issues during development, which makes total sense.

Not that it’s a real good solution but one of the 2 satellite companies can do better than that. Not cheap though.

Satellite and cable TV? Screw that... I'm not gonna pay for an increased opportunity to channel surf. Besides, I get too much to watch using an antenna. And my daughter has Netflix (cheap) and she gave us her info so we get it for free. That also includes Disney, HBO, and some others. PAY for TV? Why? I have better things to do with money.

devious6 couldn’t stream very well with the speeds he is getting. I was suggesting a faster internet solution.

For me I have DishNetwork, OTA antenna on the roof, and Google fiber for internet. It’s a lot of money but I’m not going to subscribe to every streaming service to watch the specific shows I or my wife want. I like the Hopper3 DVR and it incorporates all the OTA stations right in the guide. Unfortunately they took AT&T Sportsnet off so I can’t watch the Jazz. I get them through Fubo but only subscribe during the regular season. My kids and I share different streaming services. It’s all a racket.

We have Dish for TV - the DSL is only for internet. I just don't want to deal with the added cost, the latency as well as the weather issues with our internet. DSL is slow but relatively reliable. Streaming is iffy at times but generally our download speeds are fast enough to accommodate the limited TV viewing we do.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Shame you'd have to front your own money to enforce the rules via a protest. Poor form for a racing org.

We almost overlapped…I was there Dec 85 to May 86. I am interested to hear how Iceland is now vs then after your trip in August. Was your 1985 trip courtesy of Uncle Sam?

I have an inside antenna and pay nothing...

ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, a total of 17 channels... and those are only the ones I programmed to receive. I probably had as many that I blocked because I have no interest. And that's just antenna TV. With (free) Netflix I have hundreds of other choices.

Paying for TV is throwing money in the toilet.

My DSL download speed has gotten better over the years, 9.71 Mb down and 650 Kb up today.
I am thankful to have it -- way better than the old dial up line.
There is no cable company where I live.

I pay for Comcast cable. I like the options and the variety. I like the service and quality. I love the voice control/commands. I only use the remote to turn the tv on and off, everything else is voice commands. I also have prime which is probably 50% of what we watch. I like the thousands of free movies Comcast has and I like using voice command to order up almost any rental movie ever made. I dropped Netflix as just us personally found little we liked on it. As far as free Netflix that isn’t going to last much longer as Netflix is doing away with password sharing by the end of 2022. They are going to charge a fee for every sub account or password sharer.
I tried the antenna thing but couldn’t pull in many stations and most of the ones I did I didn’t watch.
I record almost all the programs we watch including news and then fast forward through the commercials. I watch about zero commercials.
But different strokes for different folks. Just got to go with what fits your wants and needs.

No, I had long since been out of the USMC by then; oddly enough, I got engaged in 1984 and we scheduled our honeymoon for France and Iceland for the following year, unfortunately we ended up going our separate ways (still friends though to this day), so we cancelled the wedding but took the honeymoon anyway; we had a blast. :)
