A little something every chance we get.
Well, so here's the short version....

    Off we go.

    20220708_071208.jpg

I got a tool that Brandin didn't know about, and it made quick work of the hangers. (none of my removal pics with the tool turned out, so here's one from adjusting the install) Left it with him - I should never need it again!

    And so,

    20220708_091143.jpg

About one hour total, and we have it!

While I was under there gawking, I spray cleaned the Y pipe with some High Heat Ceramic "cleaner".

    Say Bye!

    20220708_093947.jpg

    Regrets? I have a few,
then again, too few to mention.
Like my removal and install detail pics either didn't take or were bad, so I can't submit them to win $200 (in products) we could have shared for making an instruction.
Like the shop ambient noise really wrecked my fire up video. Not one of the others were worth a thing either! I'll do another one.
Oh, do I like it? YES! It's not loud at all. Quieter than my neighbors burbling dualed out Chevy. Nice and complacent idle. Only hits noise about 2500 - 3200 RPM, when you ask for acceleration. Cruising or pokey off the line - quiet. In the cab, you can only hear it kick, about a second after the K&N tube (double wrapped) starts to howl.

Removed two 100' oak trees yesterday and today, noticed I was running low on saw chains. I don't sharpen anymore, never was that good at it. I like these new chains for $9 ea. Change them in the field, keep right on truckin'. I'll get a 5-pack for my MS250. At that price, they're throw away. Amazon.com: UpStart Components 5 Pack Replacement 18-Inch L68 22BPX Chainsaw Chain for Stihl MS 250 Chainsaw (18" Length.325" Pitch, 0.063" Gauge, 68 Drive Links) : Patio, Lawn & Garden. Oak, maple, some sycamore rounds, ready to split, 2 cord is stacked out by the road. It will be picked up, split by another church member and donated to a local family.

That tool is brilliant! All these years I have been fussing with a pry bar and channel locks... :annoyed:

Looks like he did a great job for you.:thumbsup:

That was funny! Several reviews mentioned a "hanger removal tool". Never heard of such a thing, stuck it in Amazon, and there is was. One picture, and a drawing. Minimum description. Went to the manufacturer (Lisle, who makes all variety of odd tools). Same. For the cost, sure!

We both wondered how the world could exist with no one knowing of such a thing! Amazon.com: Lisle 38350 Exhaust Hanger Removal Pliers : Automotive

And he's done great work at keeping me out from under the truck, doing things I should not do. Converted the front coils from 700 to 600, U-Joints and Carrier bearing, tie rod complete replacement, my skid, and now this. And he's really a Fabrication shop! He loves what he does.

That has always been Lisle Tools specialty, build the odd tools that mechanics need to get jobs done faster and easier. Usually at a fair price too.

Anyone know how to get rid of ghost ants? I’ve seen a dozen or so on the kitchen counters in the past week. I’m thinking if I’ve seen 12 there probably 12 million nesting somewhere

I put out drops of Taro bait and watched one of the little bastards scoot right by it the next day.

I'm thinking he has dropped off the face of the earth.... cannot find any trace of him anywhere..... neither can a group on face book - that I asked about him in.... his profile doesn't even come up on fb anymore

Bait is not taken by every ant, and may not be taken by any until they are scouting. Ants will go to the established food source they know until that source is no more. Once the bait is taken by a few, more will trek to that source, and the nest will die out. Grant's Ant Stakes is a proven bait that works also, but any bait needs to be placed in multiple locations to be effective, and patience is key in any case.
Ants will come up into the house two major times a year, when their nests are flooded out by the rains, and when they are looking for water in the dry summer. They are also attracted to the smell of residential type cleaning agents. Industrial or hospital type cleaning products are more suited to deter ants, but still, this is not a complete solution in itself.
Ants, roaches, fungi, they are Masters of the World, have been so since long before the dinosoars, and will continue to be here long after humans are gone. We can hope to control where they prefer to be, but we will never defeat them.

    Morning all:

Don't know if I should :) or :(, home heating oil is now down to $4.599 from $5.899, but up from the $2.999 that I paid last year, I have been stretching it but should order within the next couple of weeks :spending:!
It may be the cheapest in August or Sept. ??????, I may be able to make it that far, but the tank would be really low, I think come Oct. it's going to head North again!

If it were me I would play it like I do the stock market. Buy it while is low…. and then watch it go lower. Or I wait … and watch it go higher. o_O

    Been there, done that!
I don't think it will go anywhere near what it was last year, I just hate to pay any more than what I have to.

Well I was off work yesterday for my birthday, another milestone one as this one makes me an official senior citizen as I'm now 62 and eligible for ss, lol. So on my day off I sold my BMW motorcycle as I plan to downsize to a lighter machine next year. Went out to Texas roadhouse for a steak dinner with my Betty. Haven't had steak in months. Then came home and relaxed to get ready for work today. I only had to work 5 hours and now I'm off, so not bad. I enjoyed my day

Get it now, get it while you can. With all the things going on - inflation, economy heading toward recession, major supply chain issues, the war on fossil fuels, the price of gas, oil, natural gas, the war in Ukraine and on and on etc. etc. These are uncertain times. I’d buy it now, today. No one knows what the price of heating oil will be tomorrow or next month. But even more concerning you do not know what the availability will be. There may be supply or supply chain issues and getting any heating oil could be problematic. Or the amount you can buy may become limited or rationed. These are seriously unstable times. Many unknowns. Buy it now and don’t worry about saving or not saving a few $$. I wouldn’t give a crap if it went down to a dollar a gallon later this year (that obviously won’t happen) I’d just be happy knowing I’m well supplied with heating oil and prepared for winter.
