I call Sirus XM every year. Will call at the end of the month. I have 3 radios, one in each vehicle, so it can be expensive. The call takes about an hour, but the savings is well wort the time.

Nice swimming hole for the big guy.

Today is primary day. My precinct is set up and ready to go. Going to be a long day.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/retirees/workaholics/&c. I bit the bullet and ordered more TP-Link stuff to build out the home WiFi. I think I might be bored or something! Humidity finally broke here, the air today is delightful. But now it's supposed to get hot. Not HOT hot like Texas, but up into the 90's. I'll be sure to get heavy outdoor work done as early as possible!

    Morning Porchatonians
Well, initial thought of gym results were spot on.
Had to lower weight, speed, and time on everything.
Heart rate was up 20bpm for same settings.
The aches and pains I worked through and went away are now back.
    Some worse.
Oh well, if it was easy anyone would do it lol

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gal! Took care of the plants and pond filters yesterday, spent some breaks in the pool. Only got to 103* here - Austin was hotter. Supposed to be 106* today. So, what did I have planned? Garage work - in the attic! May have to attack little bits of this project at a time! But, HEY! It's in the shade! :notsure:
    I know, hydration!

When it comes to International news and intrigue; the little town in Michigan where I was born is not the first thing that comes to my mind!

Michigan wheel manufacturer raided by FBI (msn.com)

When I was born, there was the Gibson appliances plant. The first Meijers SuperMarket opened when I was a kid, and the Ore-Ida plant shortly after.

LOL, I was born and lived in Michigan for my first 18 years; two of the first three towns I lived in as a pre-teen don't even exist any more. :p

Greetings from FL, started my day exercising my Rhodesian Mastiff mix rescue. We do only a mile each Morning because of the heat and humidity. Do 3 miles during the cool months. A fast paced bit of roadwork and he enjoys it. I rescued him as a pup from an unplanned litter on an AZ horse farm. He now is 7 years old and weighs 124 lbs. Trained him not to bark, he nudges me if something needs attention.
Waiting on UPS for delivery of my console safe. Got the A/C in the garage turned on for the install .

Dave, What equipment did you buy to build your network? I'm thinking of upgrading my equipment to a 1 router 2 satellite mesh system but want to have the 2 satellite access points use an Ethernet back-haul. The reason is one AP will be under the ceiling of my patio. I can't get a decent signal to my outside because the house is wrapped with foil backed insulation and a metalized glass door. The Netgear Orbi 6 series has that but $1,000 is a little steep for a new router and satellites. (The Orbi 6e is overkill and not worth $1,500, IMO). I have a Netgear R8000 with a EX7700 mesh repeater and it's very finicky. The EX7700 uses one of the 5mhz wifi band for the back-haul.

If your garage attic is anything like mine, it's 125 degrees on days like this. My network refresh requires some work in the garage attic, and I was planning on getting it done early today, but then I decided to play network engineer which of course means I brought the whole works down! o_O I'm sure part of the problem is me, but I honestly think some of it is the TP-Link software too. It takes a lot of fiddling to get it to do things that seem obvious. Also it tries to automate some stuff only to get stuck partway through. That's been my biggest hassle so far. Short story: I never made it to the garage attic. Tomorrow is another day though, here in Retirement Land.

Yep, I wanted to avoid wireless backhaul too. Several of the consumer brands offer it, just shop around.

As I mentioned earlier I decided to go with a small office system, TP-Link Omada. It's modular -- you can add as many or as few access points as you need. The AP's work with Power over Ethernet (PoE) which means you only need to run ethernet cabling, so long as you have a PoE source. They sell PoE network switches, which is what I'm using. You can also buy "injectors" which connect inline with the ethernet and provide power. The AP's all use wired backhaul. I'm using their router/gateway, but you don't have to; you could use your internet provider's gateway, then wire connect the TP-Link stuff to that and use that as your WiFi. The hitch is that you need to manually configure the WiFi network through their controller. If you have a modicum of network knowledge I don't think it would be terrible. But it is not plug&play.

Sheesh -- getting kinda nerdy in here. :)

I was only up there long enough to get two contractor bags of junk (my 70s Bell "racing" helmet!) out of the way of the wiring box I need. Then, it was what's the best way to get rid of the useless stairs. Pull the springs, supports, drill the rivets, and yank. Now, I have the hole I need to proceed, and I'm done for the day, after I roll the carts back in.
