Time is elusive when you are retired. There’ll be days when you are so busy you’ll wonder how you worked and got all the things done that you did.

Someday I'll get the other half of the frontage mowed. I've got corn growing out along the road. Dribble from grain wagons? All the road trash collects there, haha. Dehumidifier supposed to arrive today. I'll drop everything and install it. Nice little retirement job, grateful to be retired and able to do it. Also grateful for lower temps last few days, keeping humidity down a bit, during the r and r.
Annual eye exam yesterday, then drop off the script to get new lenses. That cost has tripled in a year. Funny, when inflation hits, we automatically need more stuff. :annoyed:

    Morning porchies
    Humidity finally broke yesterday.

    Short Story.
Known the mailman for a long time.
Did some work on an ice auger and other stuff over the years.
    Does the wife’s work also.
The guy loves to fish, hunt, etc…
So I met him at the mailbox and asked him about fishing.
Yes couldn’t come out of his mouth fast enough.
So I played Guide and positioned the boat for him, not me, and
    Pulled the hooks for him.
    He had a blast.
Texted me twice last night thanking me.

THX Carl. I will miss the pond, but my son has some exciting ideas for the space. I think I might have to fund some of the ideas.

David: Welcome to the club. Everyone is welcome.

Mike, what a nice thing to do. So many of us take our mail carriers for granted. Looks like you both had a great day.

Last night was terrific. We saw ZZ Top in concert. The concert was short, but they did play most all of their hits. Man, I really like the Eliminator album. The concert was an hour and a half and not many sat down.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gal! Well, it works. The phone App doesn't, but that isn't a necessity, and I will get to that when I feel like moving stuff out of the way again. Like, when I go fix the temped up doors soonly. I am impressed that it's much quieter than me just opening and closing it by hand! So, sprayed on white grease, and it got really quiet.
Go get some bloodwork done, late breakfast, and I'm going to clean sunroom windows and get in the pool when I get hot.

    good on you Mike.

I have 3 years till retirement. I've heard many people say what you guys said. I have hobbies but I don't think I can fill up everyday for the rest of my life. I'm worried about being bored to death (literally).

I'd bet that nine out of ten people contemplating retirement worry just as you do... and nine out of ten find they haven't enough time to get everything done once retired.

You need to retire to something (hobbies, part time job, volunteer work, etc.) not from something.

The goal is to get up every day filled with anticipation of doing something you actually want to do.

The guys who have made their job their entire life retire to the couch = death.

Saw them several times back in the day starting with 1977's World Wide Texas Tour
The Eliminator tour in '83 was the last time I saw them.

    Cool!
I used to have more fun taking "charters" (mostly co-workers and friends) and seeing their faces when they hooked up with a big striper than catching them myself.
