Last year when I was feeling like a moldy sack of crap, without the sack, I went to my local urgent care facility; there they diagnosed me with my second bout of COVID. At the time the first round of boosters weren't out yet, nor were the latest anti-viral therapies, so basically, "You've been vaxxed, go home and take it easy"; I can only assume if I went in today with the same complaint, they would be prescribing me something along the lines of Paxlovid. I told you that to say this, you don't need to have a primary care physician to go to an Urgent Care facility, and there they can take care of you.

If things get worse just go to the ER. It can go from bad to worse for us mature people quickly

I think with paxlovid you can go to a pharmacy and they can dispense it without an order worth a phone call. Just a disclaimer you can get rebound covid after taking paxlovid. I chose to ride it out.

Paxlovid can be prescribed by a pharmacist without seeing a doctor. There is no cost, it is free , paid for by the US government. It is almost 90% effective in reducing severe illness, reducing hospitalization and reducing death. It must be started within 5 days of symptoms.

I keep some odd bills. Silver and gold certificates, and a misprinted bill. I had three $1000 bills and thought they might be worth something so called around to see... and if they had been pristine they would have been worth $15 over face value so I spent them. I bought a couple of go-karts for the kids and the guy didn't want to take the bills in payment. After a couple of phone calls to his bank he ended up taking them but he was nervous and I could see he didn't like them. Now I wish I'd kept at least one.

Well my fever finally broke last night after 3 days. I'm on the 4th day now and feel much better. Headache and body aches are gone too. Still coughing up some mucus, throats still sore and I've lost some of my voice, I sound like froggy. But I think I'm past the worst of it.

Kurt: Stay cool today. Going up into the triple digits in Austin.

Good morning Missy! How is Retirement treating you?

I have had great sucess with local health clinics. Better than an emergency room and quicker too.

Welcome to the thread and the Tacoma sure looks nice.

Yesterday was a pleasant day for me. Chicken cook took over 4 hours. Cabbage steak came out pretty decent.

Today, my son wants to trim back a tree in the front yard. Hope he gets up before 9am.

Pics from Yesterday. I used the EX6 and the Blackstone.

You can fly at about any temp - the hotter it gets the more fuel you need and the less weight you can carry. Here we sometimes get into the 90s in summer and have flown at -17 in the winter.

Okay... so what's the perfect temp? The sweet spot between too hot to be efficient and too cold to be comfortable?
