Lots of yard cleanup to do tomorrow. No damage to my trees. Just dead stuff and leaves, but lots of it ( so far anyway) still breezy and drizzly

If you don’t have to redo anything, it’s a win no matter how fast or slow.

Stoopid stuff showed up while I was getting pizza. It's intact. I'm not replacing the tensioner itself - no bottom access right now, and nothing wrong with that. It has plenty of spring....

I've worked a few (dozen) jobs in Aussieland - several times near Singleton/Mt Thorley in New South Wales on the east side. On one extended construction job, I had an electrician named Brian Horton who was quite the party animal. No weekend work for the job so "Hor" would dash off to Sydney every other one - and come back pretty much hungover. One Monday he appeared in my office - beaten black and blue, half awake and not really fit for work. The crew reckoned he had been in a "dust-up" in some pub or another and got the bad end of it. Got quite a ribbing as you might imagine! Turned out, he had come back on the plane to Newcastle (late evening) and rented a car to drive out to Singleton (he was well paid). Ran into a big 'roo a few clicks east of us - and it went through the windshield - ended up ALIVE in the seat beside him. Went off the road in the right side ditch (which pinned the door shut) with Brian seat-belted in place - and the 'roo kicked the daylights out of him! Few of the tough guy riggers would believe him - till he brought in the NSW cops incident report.

The critters behaved a lot like mule deer - and those around our work site were close to the same coloration. They would graze alongside the road at dusk - then abruptly cross in front of you at the last second. I had some near misses myself.

Good story Steve, amazing all the things that can happen to pepole.

OF COURSE, archery opens tomorrow, and decent walleye fishing is just around the corner, and here comes the rain! :annoyed:

 rain supposed to stop sometime over night and will be windy until sometime tomorrow. My burn pile will be huge when I'm done - it's already good sized. Was going to light it up the other night, but we'd had no rain for several weeks and everything was dry.... Now will have to wait a few days for the pile to dry enough to burn. I need to get another rain gage - broke mine a month or so ago and just haven't found one to replace it :pout:

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/Ian sufferers. The remainders of the storm are here now, bringing some rain, gusty winds, and blinking the lights on and off. When it gets brighter outside I'm pretty sure I'll have a bit of a mess to clean up.

On a better note, it turns out that the fuel pump that quit on the Caterham last weekend is still being made! I obtained the replacement, fitted it to the car, and went for a romp yesterday before the rains arrived. That little car is silly fun.

Afternoon Tex, just about every vehicle you see on the road has a 'roo bumper . Heading to Sydney and the East coast for a couple of weeks next week:thumbsup:. Maybe I'll see some then:confused:. Saw some gliders in New Zealand but none on the west coast here in Australia. They say the kangaroos are nocturnal and stay in the bush sleeping during the day. Traveling back to Perth today to our friends house to do laundry, repack and resupply for the East coast.:D
    Have a good one folks.

    :oldglory:

Glad Brian made it out okay Steve. They say roos have quite the kick. Thanks for sharing the story. How long did he stay bruised:confused:.
    Speaking of kangaroos...

    Sounds like a great trip.

Started raining yesterday. Still raining and light winds this morning.

Hope you ger your limit of Walleye. I love them fried.

Good morning, everyone. Going to take it easy today and do a few indoor projects. Last night I was getting ready to soak some beans for a chili dinner tonight when I was informed, we are going out for dinner and listen to music. I did not soak the beans.

OK, stuff is all on, new belt correctly routed, ready to add some coolant, and see what happens!
    20221001_110330.jpg

And, nothing exploded, gushed water, or sounded horrible! Take the fanback off, put back ON with the shroud, top the coolant, and put the rest together!

My brother had a beat-up T100. Dropped his daughter off at a swanky private school, and the teacher asked, "does your Dad work in construction?" Nope, hospital CFO who likes saving money.

One day at work, Doc was flustered as their car wouldn't start. He got a ride and left early to buy another Mercedes, so my brother asked about his old one. Eight-year-old Mercedes Diesel with 140,000 miles on it. The dealer said "we give you $5,000 towards a trade-in. My brother bought it for $5000, put in two new batteries, and drove it for the next 15 years.

    Todays Challenge:

I finally got around to changing the oil on my wife's CRV. Honda has a fancy "oil life calculator" that finally tripped at 3600 miles after 18 months. I asked the dealer to change it when the transmission blew up, but they said, "first oil change at 5,000 or when the fancy light came on. Hmm. Just glad to have gotten it done.

One of the splash shield screws was buggered! Phillips head striped, way too tight. Hammer and chisel and lots of little tap, tap, taps. So now I am online trying to find the part number of that screw. Can not figure out what Honda calls a "splash shield" to find the darn screw (wide flange head).

Found this online. The author also called it a splash shield. Many 1/4 turn hardware and three screws are used to hold it in place. I just need the name so that I can search for the screw.
