Whew. Got all the hurricane fixin’s put away today. Ran some fuel stabilizer in the the genny, plywood for the windows is stowed and the two broken fence posts replaced. Just got back from a grocery run and the local Publix supermarket was decimated. No fresh fruit or veggies, beer and soda isle was nearly empty, no 2% milk, and most of the freezers were empty. Still feeling the effects of Ian.

Kenin, how are things overall in Odessa? I get no replies texting some relatives there. Cellular systems up and running? Thanks.

All services are restored in this end of the county in fact we never lost any, our lights never so much as blinked once. Other than having a bunch of branches to clean up and having to fix my POS fence, Ian was a non-event in this area. Ian’s impact was greater the farther east and south you go. There are still some power and Internet outages over in the west side of the county. One of the guys I work with who lives out there just got electricity and internet back on Friday. Odessa is kinda odd, it straddles Hillsborough and Pasco counties. I am in the NW corner of Hillsborough and none of my friends and coworkers up in the Pasco County part of Odessa have mentioned any problems.

Good morning, everyone. Hope your weekend is going as planned. Still raining so no work in the old pond area today. I am going to make some chili today but with stuff I scrounged from the pantry, ground turkey, and spices from my spice cabinet. Should be interesting. I am off to the farmers market to pick up a beef and pork order. I had the opportunity to order some flank and skirt steaks and a small pork butt.

I believe my son has the 3rd movie in the Dark Knight series queued up so that will be watched. Sort of a lazy day with the smells of chili in the house. I might even make a healthy Mac&Cheese.

    Afternoon all:
Good to hear that not all of Fl took the brunt of the storm, pity those that did. :(

Checked the trail cam this morning, same small buck showing up. But, hiding behind it was a wooly worm that was solid black , looks like we may be in for a hard winter if it holds true about when they are solid black, may get to use the snowblower this year.

"Lid Engine Cover." Something I would have never guessed in a million years.
Online Honda Parts, you find it under "Airconditioning/Body" then click "Front Fender"
    Finally found it:
    https://www.hondapartsconnection.com/oem-parts/honda-2016-2020-honda-bolt-cover-lower-90105tbaa00

2021 Parts diagrams are not online, so you must drop back to 2020. A unique screw, and there are some 1/4 turn clips, so I ordered extra of both so I'll be covered for the future. $6.00 in parts, $13.00 in shipping and handling (still cheaper than spending an hour getting to and from the dealer).

 Aaaaaannnnnd, Good Afternoon Porch Pals & Sue! I successfully made my trip to Pflugerville & Cedar Park and back with no issue - I was on high paranoia noise and gauge alert all the way there - I did much better coming home, and even stopped at the store. I left late because my Sciatica, and didn't wander near as much before I ran out of steam. There were some 30's rods that were just too many rows away, and it's not that big of a place. Still, enjoyed the non-issue trip, and some donuts too. Here's some pics for your enjoyment.

Good morning, everyone. Still raining and overcast in the DC area. 47 here this morning. Wife broke out the winter blanket and placed it on the bed yesterday. Watched entirely too much TV yesterday. Today is more putzing around the house.

Actually it's a supply chain issue. I have one being delivered this morning that I've been waiting for since July. The dealer told me the engines are the primary hold up. On the various size Liberty Z models they're using at least four different engine manufacturers... Kawasaki, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, and the "SR" engine. I think the SR has the Scag name on it, but I don't know who makes it.

Hidey Ho fellow Porchatonians!! Lynn and I got back from our trip to Hilton Head SC - spent last week there with my sister and brother-in-law, drove to Lexington, VA yesterday and then left Lexington at 3:30 AM this morning and were home by 9:30. :D

We played a few rounds of golf, toured around a bit, hit a few breweries and distilleries and a bunch of great restaurants. Awesome trip all around.

We ended up weathering out Ian - never any evacuation order for the island although Ian was projected initially to hit somewhere north of Savannah as a tropical storm that was then upgraded to a Cat 1 Hurricane. We stocked up on food and adult beverages and were in our condo (about 2 miles from the beach) by Thursday afternoon. Overnight, the storm tracked further north before turning inland and went pretty much around us and making landfall again around Myrtle Beach. We had a good amount of rain and wind gusts in the 50s.

Took this picture on Wednesday evening at dinner.

    Hilton Head Sunset.jpg

Here's a picture taken last Friday that reflects the "devastating" tree damage sustained by our deck from the winds.

    Branch Down.jpg

A great week but happy to be home!!

It's a rough world out there, Mark!

In other first world problems, I finally found a parking spot downtown....
