While I was wandering around Lowes yesterday I picked up a 12” surface cleaner. I read that some of the fittings on the Husqvarna are proprietary and was concerned that the quick disconnect for the nozzles might be a one-off but I figured I would try anyway. It sorta worked, once I got the cleaner attached I had to pry the slip collar back with screwdrivers to get it off. I checked the diameter of the disconnect against one of the nozzles that came with the washers and they were an exact match. The problem was the male end of the disconnect fitting didn’t extend far enough out of the plastic arm of the cleaner so the quick disconnect couldn’t slide on far enough to give the collar enough free play. In a stroke of genius I heated a deep well socket with a propane torch and gently pressed if over the fitting. It melted enough plastic that quick disconnect slides on and off without any problems.

    Great weekend.

I made it out to work the Rip Roar'n Ride that supports Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Still working on knee recovery, so no 65 mile ride this year.

Surprised my wife didn't have a heart attack during the Alabama Game. Nothing like the Aggies recovering fumbles to score! Way too close.

"The Last Kingdom" - I stayed up too late to watch the last three episodes after the game. Netflix series based on Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Stories.
One of my favorite quotes from the show "Where are the Welsh Women" "We had to kill them. They fought too hard." The family hails from Wales; my namesake
captured fighting alongside the Scots in 1650.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/sports fans. I bought a Wen gas power washer a couple of years ago, good value for the money with its Chinese knockoff Honda motor and decent looking hardware. Last year I got an AR Blue Clean electric unit for use in washing the cars, and darn if I almost never pull out the gas unit anymore. The electric unit does nearly everything I need from a pressure washer. The gas unit is still my go-to for bigger jobs though, like the sidewalk I did last week. The electric unit would have taken twice as long.

How about a little education please? First, I can't get a gas unit in California. I do need a power washer for stucco siding, but not often at all. Sidewalks once in a very long while also, so longevity shouldn't be a priority. I tried to discover from the AR website what unit would be best, but not knowing the first thing about power washers... Their prices, pressure ratings, and GPM's are all over the place. So many similar products, how's a guy supposed to act?

You don’t need big power to clean siding. You don’t want big power to wash cars. Electric should be fine so long as the cord isn’t a limitation. As for exactly which one to get, put together a list of your needs, read lots of reviews, then just hold your nose and jump!

Cali is stupid; it needs water above all and pressure washers save water.

You’re right about that. We’re a state of many contradictions and misunderstandings about what we “really really” want.

    Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!!

I bought a Greenworks 1600 Psi electric pressure washer to use on the truck - have a bigger gas-powered one down in the stable I bought years ago. I ended up using the Greenworks electric on the truck, car, siding, porch floors, patio furniture........... and the gas one sits in the stable. The 1600 PSI has been powerful enough to do everything I need.

This is the one I got through Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/Greenworks-P...cint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584070157060396

    Morning all:

:( :annoyed: My hunting buddy called me last night, he has Covid, maybe I should get tested just in case!
He has been very careful and always wears a mask when going into public places, sure hope I didn't unknowingly contaminate him.

I agree. I had a larger one, when the pump died, got the smaller, easier to move around, store, electric, cheaper, does everything I need one.

Be careful if you're on a well with a submersible pump and have a large pressure washer. It's possible to pull the well water level down below the pump intake. The pump motor will not last long without water to cool it and will stop running when the thermal opens (protection for the motor).

It will reset hopefully... depends on how many on-off cycles the thermal was designed for. It can be replaced or eliminated (wired straight through). Or replace the entire pump motor, since basically the same work has to be done either way. All pumps that I've ever seen come complete with thermals installed, and will be easier to find, than a specific replacement thermal device.

Hint: make friends with whatever well service professional you can find. They are a disappearing breed, at least around here.

    Yup in a nutshell.

Rototilling is complete. Now on to leveling the area with a topsoil/compost mix. Getting two 1/2 scoops today, maybe three. Materials site opens at 7 and I will be there at 8. Monday morning in mulch season means there will be a lot of landscape guys there when they open.

Smoking a pork butt today. Going to be a busy day.

Gentlemen and ladies, let the weekly projects start. Have a great day.

Just got done with a home covid test, looks like I have Covid :(, I feel fine, hopefully it stays that way. It took a while to contract it, guess it was just a matter of time before it got around to me.
