Turkey in the smoker and smells great.

 

Web resources suggest they'll have maybe a 5yr lifespan before de-orbiting. Reminds me, I have pretty good viewing here in farm country. I need to load up an app that will tell me if and when various satellites are viewable. I also need to get the telescope out of it's boxes...

Happy Thanksgiving sixtys/wannabes/briners. We're hosting my DIL and her family so there's a turkey heading into the oven now. We don't get too fancy but we do use the convection function. We were supposed to have another guest but she's down with what is probably RSV and is not fit company. We'll take a plate down to her.

Reading the gripes about work ethic and youth gave me the first thing I'm thankful for, namely that the great majority of young people I've interacted with have been hard working and honest dealing people. In my professional life as internet geek I naturally worked with quite a few folks in their twenties and by and large they took pride in their work, showed up on time, and were happy to lend a hand or help an old geek learn the occasional new trick.

I'm thankful too for the camaraderie I find in this forum. It's a special place, this Tacoma World, with special people. So thank you all, and may your day be filled with blessings.

Happy Black Friday Porch Pals & Sue! I won't be going out there! Got Horns to watch, and a tree to put up.

Well, looks like I won't be brining the next turkey, Tom @95SLE ! Wife doesn't want it anymore tender that we got yesterday. George (Hamilton - they are all named George Hamilton) looks spray tanned compared to our normal dark brown. I didn't realize I could actually make a middle rack with the half shelves - but I did, and that's where it sat. The probes were never satisfied for temp, and it the pop up didn't, but I went longer on time/weight. Wife just now said it was beautiful and delicious! So, I'll just go longer, and see if I'm inserting probes "wrong".

That was a better "ouch" than most. Critical mistakes you could count on one hand, with two fingers left. But you can't make them against a team like Buffalo. Still, Lions in a Thanksgiving game with a great team to the end? We have to take that!

 

We did a turkey on a spit yesterday, mmmmm, nice and smoky and flavorful.

Happy day after Thanksgiving better known as Black Friday these days. Dinner yesterday came out greatr. Turkey and ham were both juicy and tender. The stuffing was one of my better efforts. Everyone have a great weekend
