    Morning PP’s
Well, went to the eye investigator yesterday. After 3 years my eyes didn’t change enough to
warrant new scripts. Diabetic checks no change. The scar tissue lots of people get that change the cone angle is the same. Dr says if nothing changes he figures my major worry will be cataracts.

Here is a pic of Carol’s and my Christmas Present.

Definitely put a damper on Christmas. We are so far behind we are not going to decorate inside this year. Usually everything is done and we are wrapping presents now. So now need to reorganize and get shit back in place and clear out the wrapping room. I told her I would help her wrap this year. Yes I am a awesome present wrapper.
The only saving grace is that it happened now and not at the end of January with -10° temps.
Going to take a lot of figuring out with thermostat temps and doors open or closed downstairs..
    Have a good day peoples..

Thank you, haha! I'll stick with the tank type. I understand how they work, can troubleshoot, repair, clean them out, even replace one. I feed them with soft well water, and they last a long time. Hope this post didn't jinx our current 25yr. old one.
One unknown about tankless is, the current draw of a properly sized electric. Would be a consideration, wouldn't want to add another large load to the generator system. Tank type is great storage, if I need an extra 30A. when the power is off, I still have a full tank of hot water, sufficient for most power off conditions. If we need more, I can shuttle on/off cycles between a couple of loads, and not impact anything dramatically.

    Good Morning Folks :hattip:.

 One of the many issues of home ownership when things get older. It looks like a plumbers nightmare with all the piping , but glad it's done for the winter Mike. Our heater AC was 19 years old when we replaced it last year. Money tree in the backyard almost died from picking to much off for the unit .

Went to the hearing Doc yesterday. Minor change from a year ago so readjusted the hearing aids a bit. I asked her long the batteries on the rechargeables last and she gave a generic answer . Average from manufacturer is 4 years. Some might last longer while some less but she said my batteries look to be doing okay as she can access the daily wear time which shows the battery charge level . I don't know if it's the aid app on my phoe or if it is stored in the aids for short periods of time. All I know is they work .

    Have a good day all.

Not sure what I can add to that tankless water heater but I believe it would work best as point of use. In our or home the laundry and both bathrooms are close, but our kitchen is a good run from the source and now that winter is here it takes a good minute or so to get hot water.if I were to have built the place I would have insulated the hot water pipes before finishing the basement. Our water bills about doubled when our community started to buy it from a larger city. It's not unusual to see it hit a c-note in the summer if you water a garden or have a running toilet anytime. Infact you can have a usage tracker added to your account that monitors unusual usage. After a few people complained about bills of 500 plus due to a hard toilet flapper. But for our situation a tank heater works well for us. Running the extra water from a tankless seems like it would be more expensive to use for me. I do know a guy that has 2 point of use smaller units and is very happy.

I have considered going to a tankless unit, but the cost always makes me just go with a conventional tank unit. In my home the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry area are all in the same place. It would get the hot water tank out of the furnace room though. Maybe if and when I redo the plumbing in the house I'll look at thankless again. I know they have come a long way and gotten better.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Another grey and drippy morn, to be followed by miscellaneous skies and warm. Can't complain too much about that. Not much other that getting the car washed - so I can stick some decorations on it, grille back on, water greenhouse, get the last piece on the water heater bypass drain. Lot of not much!

We have some long runs too where it takes forever to get hot water. I've heard of people putting a small, one (?) gallon heating unit under the sink to get immediate hot water but I haven't researched it. Probably too pricey but it would definitely save water.

I've been looking at recirculators. Seems to be the way to go but there are different models and types out there. Come spring I'll install one. they have them on a timer so you can shut them off at night and come on in the AM ready for the morning shower :D:thumbsup:.

Recommended! A friend did that so he has instant hot water at the far end of the house (shower, sink). Well worth it.

220V Unit. It's meant for Southern USA, with incoming water at 70F. $200.

    https://www.lowes.com/pd/MAREY-ECO-220-Volt-11-kW-3-GPM-Tankless-Electric-Water-Heater/1000027127

It's doesn't get as hot during winter months, but still good for a sink and warm shower.

I think he had 80' of plumbing, so his guest had to run hot water for 5 minutes to get warm water back there. Hence the little instant heat was easier to deal with and he had room
    for additional breakers.

    Thank You for donating.

I did the double unit one. Donate every 16 weeks, and being a big guy at 235#, no issue.

I stood up after donating, and my legs buckled, flat on the floor. Oops. One pint is fine!

In Ireland they give you a pint of Guinness after donating, to fortify you. Oh my.

I had a recirculator that I added to my previous place. I put a switch on it so I could use it when I needed hot water. Worked well.

Well, pretty much used up the Putz! Greenhouse left, that's it.
The decorations she now says she "didn't want, I was just telling you about them", are now on the RAV4. Yeah, I'll put some on LBR tomorrow.

And the grille is back on and smooth, and shiny. Ten foot truck rule applies- will last until I decide to do something else.

And the last piece for the overflow pipe came. Now, there was a gash in the cement by the door, so I used the cutoff tool to make it little more drain like, sealed it with primer and paint, and adjusted my corrugated pipe section to fit.

Like I said before --I do not think the Electric tankless heaters are the way to go. Everything I have read and researched says the Tankless electrics are not very energy efficient. Nat gas and Propane models can save some --but in some cases maybe not

When I'm working around the house, I normally have (what used to be) 60's on 6 Sirius XM bopping away. Great project tunes (tunes are mostly short - so there is a LOT of music in an hour). The afternoon DJ always kicks off with something humorous (3 Stooges, clips from TV you can't say anymore; that kind of thing. So, he played a part of a tune that I though was perfect for all the folks driving around this holiday season. Figured it was Weird Al, but then he came back and got me straight. Before there was Weird Al Yankovitch, there was Bob Rivers!

Drivers On the Phone (Parody of Riders On the Storm) - YouTube

AND, before there was Bob Rivers, there was Stan Freeberg! And because it's Christmas, I'm going to share a 45 record I actually own. Now, I wasn't born when it came out, but I can totally figure that my Dad bought it, because, that would be him!

    STAN FREBERG - Christmas Dragnet (1953) / Yulenet (1954) - YouTube

And before Stan Freeberg, there was Spike Jones. But, I'm not going to post "All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth!", because there are bigger laughs out there!

I don't own these clips, they are for your enjoyment.

With all the talk about giving blood, and now you bring up an old 45 you own... this is one I own. The story I've heard is that the guy was a med student and put himself through school with these songs.

No way to tell. My old ones had a short warranty, and their permanent rechargeable batteries just didn't cut it. I have since replaced them with replaceable battery type and am happy with them. Since the hearing aid market opened up recently, there are more viable options. My new Lexie Luman's are everything I expected. I'm 5 months in, about 18hrs. per day is average for me, battery's last about a week.
I have developed a subroutine... up at about 4:30a., close hearing aid battery doors (turns them on), put them in, off to the coffee pot. Lots of activity since day one, they stay in place, don't itch or feel weird. I actually forgot about them during this busy holiday season. I'm ok with the battery life, so I've ordered more. They're zinc air. Their phone app shows the battery's condition.
I went through setup again, to make sure I did everything right. No changes. I can run setup any time. No fear they might fall out, the removal tails help stabilize them, tucks out of the way in my outer ear, and is easily accessed. Wife says they're not visible at any angle.
I can wear my regular glasses. I overnight them in an electronic dryer, found on AMZ. I could use the pill bottle and the correct desiccants, but this is easier, works perfect, and I don't forget it.
