:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Learn a lesson - never say there's nothing to do. I managed to enjoy a couple naps, woke up to turn on the news, and absolutely no sound from the TV and audio. Remote showed the amp volume going up and down, but nothing. Changed it to tuner, nothing. So, I disconnected the TV and was going to just use (GASP!) the TV speakers - nothing! Rebooted the TV, went to it's menu, and found "TV sound ON", and there we go. And now I know why some of love our amps again! Looked up the Yamaha amp, found a factory reset, but that did nothing. More investigation today when I get home.

    Home from where? Audiologist!

Give me the MGB any day. The TR6 was crazy popular, but it was body-on-frame and had the worst cowl shake you've ever seen. Those big wheels and tires jacked up the unsprung weight too. They were sexy to look at, that's about it. The MGB on the other hand was a true front mid-engined car; the entire engine sat behind the front axle line. They had a unitized body/frame structure and 50/50 F/R weight distribution as well. They really handled well especially for their time. Just needed a bit more go juice.

All in my ever-so humble opinion of course!

I spent the morning of our wedding (6:00 p.m. ceremony) replacing the leaking rear brake cylinders so we could take it on our honeymoon and then got towed on our honeymoon when the fuel pump died. That said, agreed, it was an enjoyable car to drive. Wish I had room for another one.

I preferred the Triumph Spitfire. It was hard to beat a Spitfire in a slalom race with their independent rear suspension... unless you were in a Mini-Cooper. But Minis have never had the sex appeal of the open cars.

Ya know... I've often wondered what happened to all those drivetrains out of the LS swapped Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Skys. There are a lot of times I've envisioned some kind of project using one of those engine/trans swapped into something older.
And those kinds of swaps often happened with brand new vehicles so the drivetrains had no miles on them.

Good morning fellow Porchatonians!! And, happy bleated birthday @bucktales !!

I'm enjoying the morning calm before the arrival of our first significant winter weather experience this year - snow/sleet/freezing rain - totals somewhere in the 4" to 7" range. I'm hoping our higher elevation will keep us mostly snow. Plows and snowblower are ready...I'm not. Ugh. :(

Good morning, we went straight from summer right into winter temps here. Luckily it hasn’t snowed here since 1976. So we got that going for us. Still it’s freezing out here!

Kurt: Hope you fixed the amp problem. I am a Denon fan myself. I am on my third one.

Susan: I was at therapy, shoulder tendonitis, and was talking to another senior and told her pain is an equal opportunity employer, she told me it was more like a Wack a Mole, when it is cured in one body part it pops up in another. I liked her analogy.

Good morning. Dental and physical therapy appointments today. Making chicken soup for dinner tonight.

Waiting for the snow, might even get to use the snowblower if we get the upper end of what is predicted.

I drove a '65 Spitfire in college years - and the gas mileage was a plus (27+) - but the motor was better used in a lawn mower. Mine had a previous life as a slalom racer in K.C. so it was well used. To keep the rear swing axles from killing you when they jacked the rear end up - it had a cross leaf spring added - a "camber compensator". Without it, the rear would steadily climb if you made a series of quick left-right swerves - like a Corvair.

Because of the common complaints - I met a lifelong friend who started out with a TR4 - and I liked driving it better than the Spit'. The goofy "good for a week or two" parts suppliers Triumph used, made both cars see the garage often. His wife wanted a hard top so he traded it for a Corvette white painted GT6. The Spitfire tail lights were exactly the right height to be busted by virtually any American car with the slightest bump. Can't tell you how many I bought........

Morning guys, waiting for more snow and next week highs in the Negative Temps. No place like north dakota in the winter. We can have some really nice weather and some really crappy conditions hours or days apart. Sure glad I have my Tacoma, the other day a friend got his F150 stuck in a ditch full of snow and ice, got him out in 3 tugs.
