A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Crisp 34* overnight; proof that the greenhouse heating system still works. The other week I got another wireless thermometer for the garage - so I could check on the actual temps for where I put a couple large pots from out front (only for a short, hard freeze). One of the old greenhouse controllers and a little space heater for when I need it. And the thermometer tells me today that the plan will work out just fine.
Yes, I did get my amp "fixed" - there was just nothing on-line for that model (from the 90's!), so I chatted up Yamaha, because I did register it when new. Tech said "unplug it for at least a minute, plug it back in. If that doesn't work, it will need repair". So, any other suggestions while I go do this? And LO, the radio came back with noise (lost the few preset stations, but it worked), so came back to finish the chat - and he already had! Guess old things don't get much love! And given it's age, I am sort of amazed that the power reset worked.
Audiologist went fine - I got a new one who is very good, and also very easy on the eyes! The last one was as well, but she has moved on to another ENT office. Ah well! Didn't do a full test - we moved a special program on the App into my regular preset, so things are crisp again. And I checked on the battery display only showing one battery? It's a known bug, and they haven't fixed it yet. I never even would have known if I wasn't comparing the App with one of you!
    Stay warm!

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/weatherfolks. We've had a fire going since we got up -- just the thing for a damp, gloomy day like this. I've been reviewing my financial year, it's a weird one because I retired + inherited + had my first ever RMD + made a large charitable donation in my parents' name + sold stuff at a loss. I think I have a handle on everything but I might search out a CPA for help in getting all of the I's dotted.
It started as snow here just before dawn, pretty quickly turned to sleet and freezing rain. Fortunately the trees don't appear to have a heavy buildup so the power might even stay on.

For a moment, I thought your solution of the stereo was the trip to the Audiologist. :D
Great to hear both are no issues!

Good morning fellow Porchatonians!! It's a Slushy Winter Wonderland out there. Temps are just above freezing - we got maybe 3" of snow with rain on top of it. Forecast is for it to continue as a rain/snow mix with some freezing rain thrown in through the morning and into the afternoon.

I'm going to be shoveling some of this instead of using the snowblower. Slow and steady - this stuff is really heavy.

Good morning. The DC area dodged the winter bullet over the last two days. Solid rain all day long yesterday with temps in the mid 30's to the mid 40's. Still really wet out there. Seems like a good day to clean the workbench and watch a movie. Going out for dinner and music tonight.

My older brother wanted a TR6 several years ago but wasn't finding anything he liked and could afford. Stumbled into a MGC instead. I'd never heard of the C before but it was fun little ripper while he had it. Sidedraft Webers, header, hotter cam and all Koni suspension it had been autocrossed in it's previous ownership. Clutch was heavy and my brother sold it after only owning it about 3 years since every time he drove it his back hurt afterwards.

Wow, that sounds like it was quite a piece! Nice mods. The MGC had the motor from the Austin Healy 3000, needed a lump in the hood to clear the extra girth. They added torsion bar front suspension too, for the same reason. Pretty neat cars but never sold well.

The storm overnight became mostly rain -- and gusty winds. We were lucky though, no structural damage. My project for the next day or so, after it stops spitting rain:

Are you close enough to get lake affect snow. My brother in Erie talks about that. This is one big system all across the upper states. We got 12 to 14 some areas have gotten almost 20 but it bas slightly melting because of the temperatures. Expecting the deep freeze next week.

    Morning all:

    Same thing here.

Glad the tree didn't hit the garage Dave, I took most of the trees down that could damage any structure, so far so good. I couldn't take everyone of them down and just had one fall into the woods that could have damaged my two car garage, all I can do is :fingerscrossed:. I did cut some oaks down that were close to that garage and am glad I did after the gypsy moths killed most of the oaks, those trees would have definitely been a problem.
