Our power came back on just a little while ago. Woohoo! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOUI to the hard working folks who made that happen.

Even with the whole house generator I was concerned that we might still lose power if the propane got used up too quickly, so I opted to stay home rather than head to Baltimore with my wife. We haven't had the generator for very long (early November) and although we've used it 4 times so far (!!!) we really don't know how much gas it consumes. It was running since 3:30 yesterday afternoon; when I looked at the tanks this morning they were at "60" and "70". This afternoon when the power came back I looked again, and they're still in the same place more or less. The needles were just above the numbers this. morning, and they're just below them now. I think we could have gone for a few days. Good to know.

Merry Christmas everyone! Stay safe, stay warm. Be thankful.

California has wacky politicians and citizens, but it can have great weather. Today (12/24) it's 78 degrees in San Diego. Warm enough to give our "odorous" almost 13 year old GSD a bath.
Poor old dude is springing leaks from head to toe. Wife is making cookies, picked up a variety of handmade tamales this morning for Xmas eve dinner. Already went to Costco to pick up 2 dozen roses for my spouse of 41 years. Life is good. 2 adult children are brats.

Weather for Xmas day should be 80+

One Xmas a few years back, my neighbor had a visitor with his RV parked in her driveway. He dumped his holding tanks onto the street. Man, what a smell! I too have an RV, my tanks have never produced such a smell! Called out the fire department and hazmat. They washed the "concoction" down the street into the closest curb drain. Merry Xmas!

5° here. Furnace is running a lot. But, 30 seconds at a time.
New fangled systems are much noisier than the old ones.
Better be saving me some money.

Santa had a early start. NORAD had him over Hawaii few min ago.
Maybe people were nicer this year. Maybe Rudolph is a step or two slower.
I didn’t ask for anything this year. I have what I need.

    Have a safe day.

Merry Christmas to all. The pork butt came out looking good. It has been wrapped up in an insulated cooler all night. The cook took 9 and 1/2 hours. Watched too many Christmas movies yesterday and rode around the city last night checking out all the Holiday Lighting Contest winners. Life is so good to me and my family. Everyone have a Happy Holiday Season.

    Merry Christmas porch dwellers!
17 degF here this morning in my part of NC. It was 7 to 9 deg F yesterday morning, unusually cold especially for December. We didn’t lose power but at that temp the heat pump couldn’t keep the heat up to around 62 deg, but happy for that. Duke Energy instituted rolling temporary blackouts due to high demand exceeding capacity, even in areas around me as close as just a couple of miles but we were spared. So much for solar green energy, build more nukes and gas plants.
