Huh, been running one for years and no issues. Mine is just a vent pipe with a knee high nylon stretched over it to filter the lint.

That's what the ex-laws had. It was a long time ago but I recall them not using it for very long. I imagine the water would add to any possible humidity issues.

I used one of those years ago, we heated with a coal stove so the additional humidity was a benefit.
What was a problem was the water in the pail got stinky nasty quickly. After that I went to the knee high nylon method.

I keep humidity in the house slightly less than 50% with a dehumidifier in the basement, which permeates the entire house. Out of sight, and no extra noise in the house. Once it gets the humidity under control, it doesn't run much. Too much humidity will grow mold in places you can't see. There are a couple molds that can grow at 50%. I keep a cheapo hygrometer on the kitchen counter, central to the house, to make sure the dehumidifier is doing its thing.

Good morning. Primary doctor appointment today at 1. Right now, it is off to the gym. We had a dusting of snow last night. It was too warm for it to stick to the streets and sidewalk.

    Morning all:

Just read an article where people are camping out overnight at a Corvette dealership so they can be first in line to order a new Corvette E-Ray, anyone on here going to be in that line! They are saying that the E-Ray will be the fastest Corvette ever produced.
For whatever reason, I never really wanted a vette, I always liked them, and always enjoyed looking at them, but something just didn't click with my got's to have button!
I didn't think I would like the new mid engine ones, but a guy I know has a red one and they are absolutely gorgeous, I actually wouldn't mind having one of them and need to keep my second childhood under control.

LOL... I don't even know what it is. New cars look so homogenized I no longer even pay attention to them. Is it a fancy Hyundai?

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/gearheads. That GT500 got really good reviews, apparently Ford managed to find a way to control the power. They used to be pretty much just straight-ahead machines but the new one turns too.

I keep finding new stuff that has to be added to our tax return this year. Latest one is from the state -- I got a small refund last year and they sent me a 1099G form. Yikes.

I'm waiting for the surgeon's office to call; I'm having Moh's surgery tomorrow for a spot on my cheek. It's just below the eye which means he has to slice down the side of my nose to close it up, so that I won't have a saggy eye. I will probably look a fright for the next few weeks...

Same here. Looked at them last two times I got a "fun" car but just didn't do it for me. Part of it was the driving position just didn't feel..."right" Maybe it's being 5'9" but the outward vision wasn't to my liking. Mrs. SpruceMica felt the same on test drives.

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! This whole thing has been like waiting for the other shoe to drop. Haven't been below 30*, or above 33* since Monday. Mostly, we've gotten rain, and it's freezing above, but not so much on the surface. Last night was supposed to be the worst, and we did get 0.07" that must have been rain. What freezing rain we've gotten I can't seem to measure, but those storms have been light and far between. Everything is shut down, and that's fine. Restart the fire in a while, and take an outdoor tour. I have no trees to drop branches, except the Crepe Myrtle, and that's a pretty flexible tree. Did lose a flying fish pole, again. Things could be a whole lot worse.
It would be really nice if I ever managed to get an emergency generator set up..... Imma gonna do something come spring.

Harry - you need to bring home the GT500. "This way the pizza is still hot when I get home" I had a Mazda RX2 with a bridge-ported rotary engine that superheated the passenger floor. Great for keeping the pizza hot.

I am finally getting around to getting my GMRS radio license. Yes, I have a 2nd class FCC license from 1978 but I failed to Grandfather it when they went to the new system. The irony is new one is code free with no test. Few off-road groups require a GMRS on group rides, which makes sense. https://quality2wayradios.com/store/GMRS-FCC-License Still not sure what the 'best bang for the buck is.'

I was having fun with Taxes. Last year my beloved Golden Retriever needed ACL on both legs. $8800 for the surgeries, add other medical bills, which was over $10K. She was my service dog and kept me out of trouble, so well worth it. Thankfully I have the whole paper trail (RX from my Neurologist, Training Documentation, yadda), so her expenses fall under medical. I Had a new brain pacemaker installed. Knee replacement. My wife's hospital and ICU, and ostomy supplies. The sudden realization we spent over $30K in medical makes me wonder how I'll ever afford to retire. She was a fantastic hiking partner as I tend to get lost, but she always managed to get me back to camp every time. An amazing friend who I miss.

Ruh Roh.... we were staying with green rain. Now, it's gone purple. Right on the freezing line we are.

OK, yeah, we got some ice last night. Walks and streets are "OK", but I'm not using them. Couple neighbors have now dragged some limbs to the street, and I hear some poor person down the street with a chainsaw in the drizzle.

My son's inlaws in San Antonio had a tree come down. He says there are some scattered power outages too. Fortunately not their house!
