    Morning all:

I'm jealous of your lifestyle Charlie, to me that's living the dream!:thumbsup:
BTW: we have another member with beehives on here, we are diversified!!! :)

Mike, YOU JUST NEED A BIGGER FURNACE! :D

Not good news from you alan :(, one thing I would consider is making a comprehensive list of anything that others would need to know, not knowing something as simple as where the extra safe deposit key is can become a headache. Luckily I had knowledge of everything I needed to know when my mother had a stroke, believe me, knowing it and not having to go crazy trying to find what I needed was a tremendous help.

ndoldman59, nothing new there, my one buddy had a new home built in the 80's and he knew how to read blueprints, let's just say the general contractor was very happy to get away from him after the home was finished after he kept pointing out multiple "mistakes" that they ended up having to correct!

I live in Hockley Texas small town NW of Houston I get that on profile when I figure it out. I was in Medora working on a film called "The Wooly Boys" With Peter Fonda I worked for a film equipment company We provided everything for shooting on location So I went wherever equipment and job was That was Los Angeles to New York down to Mexico City and everywhere in between after 32 years of being gone I went home and will NEVER leave again hahahahahahhaa. New homes being built down here are melting before people move in Cardboard for insulation Photos of crew putting shingles on roof with nothing under right on top of plywood No body cares just slap it together and move to next disaster

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Got to have some home made blueberry, cream cheese coffee cake with my cups this morning - lucky me! Dense fog at 32* early, sun is trying to come back and we've make it to 48*, supposed to break 60* a little, but end up cloudy. Still good. Tomorrow is supposed to be out "nice day" - sunny & 70* - so I guess it's the car show in the morning!
Not much planned except going to the store, and running the cars through the scrub-a-dub. Probably be a line.
Sorry to hear your news Alan - just have to take it easy as it comes. Stay as comfortable and happy as you can!

Alan, us Oakland boys are tough, stay strong. Getting older is kind of like an aging automobile. As they get older and more mileage things start to break and fail. One day it’s the starter, the next it’s the power steering, then the transmission and so on. We are the same way. As we age we never know what malady will happen next. What ever happens fight this shit the best you can, never give up. Us old guys get tougher as we age, kick some lymphoma ass.
The internet can be a good place to obtain basic medical information but it can also be misleading and leave out important information. I suggest you write a list of all your questions for when you see the specialist. If you don’t have a list you’ll forget important questions when you see him. I know from experience about overlooking to ask questions.
My experience with specialists is that they are either caring individuals who will take their time with you and answer all questions and have a great “bedside manner “ or they have the personality of dog shit. I hope you have a good specialist.
Hang in there Alan. Stay active on this forum, you have friends here.

I am ashamed When I put my coat on she will strike a "pose" so I can put her coat on OR she might go back to bed if real cold.

On making a PM group conversation, not sure of the difference between that and a regular PM?
Making lists is good but I have nobody to entrust them to who can also tie his own shoes. I have for a long time now been editing every bank account entry to ensure understandability. The suggestion of a list of questions for the Specialist is priority at the moment, as that conversation will be next Friday. Top of that list is effectively dealing with symptoms without being a zombie on drugs.

Boatswain, I know but it seems like this new generation of trade do not know how to hide or correct their mistakes. Not the pride this generation has/had I was at a new home a couple yrs ago, the had 2'' of ice around the windows on the inside and frost around the os of the j trim of course the contractor was blaming the windows. When I got the jamb liners and trim off no insulation at all after that they were complaining [owner's] about not getting the temperature up above 60° found out later 1 wall and the attic wasn't insulated/ that's the job superintendent, dry wallers, and insulation crews total of 3 trades plus the job sup. That didn't care and the city inspection signed off on it all. Blows my mind.

    AAAAAAAAA NO…. LOL

It’s smallest furnace they make and it’s big enough to run this house and the one next door hooked together same time.

Because it’s not a boiler with hot water coil, it runs on demand. So the heat from the boiler heated the downstairs and the zone tweaked it.
So now I don’t have enough “fin surface” with lots of just plain copper pipe. So I’ll have to install
a extra 10 feet of fin assembly to both rooms.

    On Edit:

It was -47° with the wind chill….

Mike , remember wind chill normally doesn't affect anything but skin. You might check the walls, windows and doors with a inferred thermometer. it will show cold spots and around the window frames if there is a 5 degree or more drop there's normally a void insulation.

well if the wind is blowing 40 mph.. lol.
I’m sure I have cold spots. I have new windows and extra insulation for electric heat that was in when I bought it.
I’ve spent enough money for a few years…
    Lol

In a past life I spent considerable time working on mining machines with pressurized "power control rooms". The big DC converters had pressure switches that would cut operation if the internal pressure dropped - GE wanted there to be proof of positive air flow across the thyrister banks in order to energize them. When the outdoor temperature is -25ºF or even less - the CFM out of multiple 30 HP blowers will try to kill you while troubleshooting....... At that sort of temp differential I wanted them to allow me to deliberately cut down to a single blower unit for maintenance purposes - and got little or no sympathy from the engineers (in their comfy offices). Some simple logic changes would have allowed the reduced flow of a single fan for a short period ...... while we checked things out. This never got fixed in the years I did this sort of work - and I even learned of a death of a technician who was knocked unconscious and then quickly frozen over by Green River, Wyoming.

Sub-zero wind chill is no joke - stay safe people!

So sorry you have to deal with this. Hope the docs can keep you comfortable from any side effects you are having. Like others have said, start a PM chain to discuss in private.

When I lived in Alaska, thank goodness for locking hubs.... turn the truck (blazer) on, put the tranny in gear and the transfer case in neutral. Warmed the fluids up before moving
