Good morning all, I hope everyone is doing well. Those of you that are dealing with medical issues, I pray your situation will improve. I know we need the storms and water but I’m ready for more spring and less winter. We have 25th wind with 20 degree temps. I wanted to get in the hot tub this morning but it’s too miserable getting in and out.

This morning at about 3:00AM I woke up with a stomach ache. It got so progressively worse that the pain made me sick to my stomach. At 5:00AM I asked my wife to drive me to the ER. Short story - I’m now part of the kidney stone club. I don’t wish that on anyone and feel sympathy for those that have had one. It’s finally out this morning. I’m spending the rest of the day pounding water, reading TW, and binge watching “Justified” again.

    Have a great day.

    Came out nice.

Back in the day, an old timer I knew taught me how to make these swimmers for Stripers.
These are unfinished as a single hook with a bucktail is still needed.
    Made out of Red Cedar.
The psychedelic yellow/black paint job is done by using distilled water, baking soda and a couple drops of paint with one dip in the water to put the black over the base yellow.
    Cool stuff.

Believe me Bryan I know your pain. Over the years I’ve had probably 2 dozen stones. Back in September I had two surgery’s to blast the stones with a laser. After your first stone you have a 50% chance of having more stones in the next couple years. Water is your friend. 2+ liters a day dilute the substances in the urine that form kidney stones. I also definitely know the relief when the stone passes. Glad you passed it.
“Justified” is one of my all time favorite series. I to need to binge watch it again.

The tail number jogged a memory. One of our local EAA Guys built that 20 years ago. Lowell LeMay passed away a few years ago.

Those are cool. I bet they catch as many fish as a modern Rapala. I love catching fish with lures and flies that I make. It's an extra bonus when something you make tricks the fish into hitting your hook.

    Evening all:

Another welcome to the porch @M_McFly, your first job as a newbie is to fill the cooler! :)
Good group here, post away, and Pics. are always welcome.
STRIPERS, you had to mention STRIPERS, those things drive us nuts when fishing for walleyes both in the lake and in the river! :annoyed:
Nice looking lures there bucktales, interesting process you use to put the finish on the second one down. Those definitely look like some of the old wooden lures I've seen, nice job making them!:thumbsup:

Sorry to hear about the kidney stone Bryan, so far that's one thing I haven't experienced and don't want to judging by others experiences with them, hopefully once and done for you.

    Sue.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
BTDT. First one put me in the ER @ about 3:30AM, started about 1:00AM and like you, puked my guts out from the pain. Have had several since, most have been really small. After the first, if my back starts tightening up on one side or the other and then start feeling like I got hit in the balls, I know exactly what's up and start pushing the water. The last few haven't even slowed me up at all.

    Good morning Pals and Gal.

Headed out to 7:45 am kick boxing class. Tonight I have a board meeting of a local volunteer group. Our town has an extensive Rails to Trails system. The organization, a 501(c) charitable, maintains the trails are far as surface repairs, brush clearing, drainage, etc. The town supplies the materials and has given us a Kawasaki Mule UTE that serves as transport and a material hauler. We supply the tools, the gas, and a lot of aching backs. Growing up my Mom always said to me "work with your brain, not with your back" Here I am all these years later not only using my back...but doing it for free...
