Right here is where I pronounce myself proprietor, go behind the desk, grab every room key. Go down the line until I find a decent one.

:pccoffee: :pccoffee: :pccoffee: Nothing clever to say at the moment. I've been beating my head against the tax beast all day. More to come.

The Nevada portion crosses the center of the state and was named "The Loneliest Road in America" by Life magazine in July 1986. The name was intended as a pejorative, but Nevada officials seized it as a marketing slogan

And there is a forty mile long stretch in Utah just west of Delta that begins the lonely... and the lonely doesn't end until Carson City just east of California. That forty miles is straaaaaaight and flat and, did I mention straight?

First day of no longer in firefighter class. I dropped out yesterday after tearing up my right shoulder. I have a range of motion issue since the early 90s that was compromised for the ouch.

It was ment to be and life goes on. I can still manage EMS and will continue to enjoy that position in life. I have one hell of a problem sitting still. Trying to take it easy for a few days is tough.:(

    Take it easy on yourself.

I've fallen more than I wish and have damaged my right shoulder—a more challenging to do push-ups and "chest taps" (hand taps opposite shoulder while planking).

My biggest challenge is getting up from my velomobile (enclosed recumbent bike). It's great for long trips (camping gear stuffed behind the seat, easy to average 30 mph on long rides). It sucks when I can not get out of it when my shoulder doesn't cooperate.

My new Glock, just picked it up today. Intended for conceal carry.
Glock 19 Gen 3. 9mm. (Excuse the damn cat hair on my gun cloth). Wife actually approved of my purchase.

Good choice Ken. Now to get to the range and put it through its paces. Happy shooting Sir:infantry:. My EDC is a Sig 365 XL. Great carry piece.

I thought my brother was the only CCW holder in California (jk, about 10,000 total in California).

I have the Glock 17; the joke is, "17 rounds means I might hit something!" I've learned to short-sweep and squeeze. If I aim straight at the target, tremors kick in, and I'm all over the place. Sweep and squeeze, and I'm fairly accurate.

Thankfully 9mm is back in stock; 1000 rounds for practice shooting is about $300. I miss my 5c plinking days (.22LR)
    https://www.texasammunition.com/product-p/h-txa-9mm-115-bulk.htm

Sadly my shooting buddy passed away a few years ago. Local detective, so we went to a range where everyone knew him so they didn't question me. Parkinson's, blank face, 1000-yard stare, and when I focus, I tune everything out. I scare the shit out of people at the range.

One of my customers made visits fun. Middle of nowhere in Arkansaw. He opened the back door and had steel targets all over the hillside. The longest target was maybe 2000 feet away, the closest around 100 ft.
He fired a custom rifle, thought he had missed. Two seconds later, "ping" He hit that far target! Yikes. A separate building had all his powder-loading equipment, 10" concrete/rebar reinforced walls, vault door. It was the tornado room but it made sense to store powder out there. Some days I had fun as Field Applications Engineer (out of the frying pan and into the fire). Ya, I liked it.

It was a toss up for me between the Sig 365 and the Glock 19. What nudged me to the Glock is that a good friend of mine is a retired police detective and a Glock guy. He carried one on duty and currently for ccw. He said to me that Glocks are like Toyotas and Hondas, they are absolutely reliable. I know Sigs are too but had to go with the advice of my friend.

That's a pretty cool little unit but there is no way in hell I'd use it on the street.
