Yup! Stuff is where they keep it. But one of (very few) real Amazon issues, is when THEY lose it on THEIR trucks. For some reason, they just lose all track of it. Happens here with two fulfillment centers and three distribution centers within 50 mile of home.

Reminds me of when my dad passed away. My mom passed first so the bank accounts were all consolidated at the time of my dad's passing. However, we found life insurance accounts between the pages in magazines, a 2 lb coffee tin full of nickels, for an old slot machine, and rolls of cash in old clothing. He was born in 1920.

I hope so, I have the same theft deterrent in my Tacoma.

Good morning. Shopping at HT today, Seniors Day. We are going out for dinner and music tonight. Decided to stay home tomorrow night because the music venues will be full.

Nice Pics, but I'd be sitting in my recliner looking out the window, waiting on the sun to appear in a couple of days and melt this stuff away. So glad I live in the "South" where I don't have to deal with this. Looks nice, but no way I could clear this much snow away.

    Morning all:

I had mentioned this before, an old barber that I used to go to said that he had $100 in the bank during the depression and somehow lost it even though the bank never closed. Judging by his demeaner and tone of voice, I would have to think that he never kept money in a bank after that.
Just listening to a discussion about eliminating small regional bank and just having "too big to fail" banks left, don't know if that's a good idea either, Lehman Brothers wasn't exactly a small regional bank

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes -- gosh are there any wannabes around anymore? These stories of what people find after their parents pass reminded me of a friend of my father. He was a barber and a frugal guy. When he passed his sons found money behind the walls of his house! It was in the tens of thousands if memory serves. Full disclosure: my mom stashed money away too. My sister found over $2K total hidden in underwear drawers, jewelry boxes, etc. She must have forgotten about most of it because she constantly asked me to get cash for her when grandkid's birthdays rolled around. It all makes me wonder what weird thing I'll do at that point of my life!

When a friend's Aunt passed they found a note in her purse that said "can in closet"
Searched her closets and found an old style metal potato chip can... with $35,000 in cash stuffed in it.

My MIL had money and her jewelery hidden throughout the house. Working 4 sometimes 5 nights a week (4 to 5 hours a night because we were still working full time) it took close to a year to clean out the house. She even removed the medicine cabinet in their powder room, and hung a sock with silver dollars on a nail and put the cabinet back :annoyed:. Growing up in their time period made them aware of banking institutions and what could happen.

My parents never had two nickels to rub together, so no stash of money found after they passed. One concern though, about elder care when the time comes, I hired in home help for my mother, and never found all her jewelry after she passed. Most of it was costume jewelry, but pieces I remembered were gone. That was an all around bad time, my mother wasn’t a happy camper, even though she was able to remain at home. At our advanced age now, we should all do what we can to reduce those upcoming problems for our loved ones.

:rain: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Our intermittent showers forecast upped itself a little overnight, and looks like I will have to work around it. Still plenty to do either way.

I need to check with my siblings. Grandmother was born in 1883 and got it from her Mom. They lived in San Francisco, so sough dough bread was a family tradition.
Our Datsun pickup had the clutch master fail when I was out making runs. I called back to the shop and explained the situation. They asked if I needed a tow truck; I know how to drive a stick. Engine warmed up, kill the engine, pop in first, tap the starter, and hit the gas. Off we went. I did a full day of deliveries and returned to the shop (picked up a new master and slave). All you need to know is to match engine rpm to road speed, and it just slips into the next gear. Rally days!

My dream car is a 1994 Toyota Truck, simple and easy to work on—a little more refinements than my noisy 1972 Toyota Pickup. We had gotten a Japan spec 8R with twin SUs. That made it fun!

Another fun dream car (1973 TE73 - aka Corolla)

Great bread here in the Bay Area. Sourdough is everywhere, we have a lot of Dutch crunch here that one never seen anywhere else.

The winds were in the 50+ gusts here a couple of days ago so many trees down and power outages in some area that are still without electricity. It wasn’t long ago we were begging for rain and snow now we are wondering if it will ever stop

Well, if that is all it would take to shift that fancy racing gearbox, then yes, I would be able to. I have also driven that way. Clutch cable broke on my VW bus.
I imagined a more finicky gearbox.
