Now you bring back memories. I had a ‘39 Ford as a kid, with a short shift lever and heavy brass knob. Stoplight racing with a speed shift only needed a momentary wiggle of the gas pedal, no clutch.
Also, while in the Navy, I was a Taxi driver at Miramar NAS, assigned a ‘58 Brand X six banger that could go through the gears without the clutch. Most of the pilots I ferried got a kick out of that, I say most, but you know there are always a few dickheads. It was fun until my Captain’s Mast.

Reminds me of a 66 VW Bus I had where the brake line burst. Fortunately, first gear was like a granny gear. Pretty easy to replace the brake line.

Good morning. Happy St. Patrick day. If you are going out tonight be careful. Everyone have a wonderful weekend. BTW I am smoking a smaller pork shoulder tomorrow.

:rain::rain: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Well, the cold and wind was dead on. We missed most of the heavy storms, but still got some amount overnight. My weather gizmo resets between events, so I guess maybe 0.25". Looks like a darn good day to stay inside! For those of you with 50 feet of snow, you too!
    Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day all! We’ve had 3 days of blue skys and sun shine here is California but not to worry, rain in the valley and snow in the mountains is forecast starting Sunday. My favorite Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is currently at 55’ of snow so far (a new record) and more on the way. Welcome to sunny California.
My wife is 100% Irish, loves St. Patrick’s Day but hates corned beef and cabbage. I’m 100% Norwegian and love corned beef and cabbage. So we’ll go out for dinner tonight and she can have whatever and a glass of wine, and I’ll have my corned beef and a pint of Guinness. Stay safe all.

    Happy St. Patricks Day!

We got pummeled by quarter-sized hail; thankfully truck is fine. I tucked it nose first, pointing west against my 14' shop; the heavy wind came in from the West, so out of harm's way. RSI Cap is heavier sheet metal, with solar panels on top, but no issues. My wife's Honda and travel trailer were in the shop, so the truck faced the hail storm.

I had an appointment this morning with Tax Office to get the travel trailer registration done. Darn it, I had clicked "registration" and should have clicked "Title Transfer." Oops. I was dumped back into the queue. Sheesh. Cold, wet, and rainy, so no one was there. I got it done; thankfully paperwork was fine, and I paid my $1002 and was on my way. Ouch.

My brother was a lifelong SF Giants fan. He passed in 2020, but there was Spring Training, and we always met up at Lefty O'Douls once a year for Corned Beef and Cabbage. It was fun to watch the games and spot him in the stadium. His good friend Kevin Tierney paid for his season ticket when they had Covid Lockdowns. Green cap.

Lefty O’Douls was a San Francisco land mark. I use to frequent the place many many years ago when I worked in SF. Great food, great drinks, a lot of memories there. I think they closed 3 or 4 years ago.

The Lefty O’Doul bridge is still just to the right of McCovey cove. There was no chance of the bar surviving the last rent hike. I went in there for lunch on a weekday and I was one of six patrons.

Harrington’s is trying to make a post Covid comeback. SF downtown is fairly vacant post COVID. I sometimes UBER there on weekends and it’s pretty sad.

Happy Birthday, and welcome Bill. Someone will be along to fill you in on the rules, but - hint - see that cooler over there?

:rain: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Bye to the Decked, and my unused Hi-Lift goes out the door today. Spent the rest of the day recalibrating the Audio unit BestBuy exchanged for me, filling out registrations and such. Looks like another indoor day, as supposed to be wetter, and no sun at all.

Welcome to the creaky joints club!

I enjoy reading more than posting. There are so many interesting people here and it gives me great pleasure to read about them. This country is vast and there is so much of it that I’ve only passed through. Hearing about the wonderful lives people have all over this great country makes me happy and proud. May you have as much fun as I have keeping up with the next best generation! Great guys and gals!

congrats on the hike, my son just did that and Zion last month.
