Mine has less do-dads on it.

New tank installed last year but I have to pull it in a couple weeks as the sending unit is reading 3/4 tank on a full tank.
Sending unit is good (as well as the spare new sending unit.
Arm has to be tweaked as it's hitting the inside of the tank before it reaches full.
(both senders tested good) NOS reproduction stuff sucks.
At least pulling the tank is a breeze with new SS hardware.

When I was going to lunch during Coastie reserve weekends I'd ride with a guy that had a 454 Nova. He never drove it like I would have, but it was still memory making. Nice car...

Is your sending unit just clocked wrong?

Happy Saturday fellow old people. My new Dynapro ATM tires may be at Discount Tires this morning... Very speedy service, thanks to the referral to use the TW vendors forum, here! Thank you... and I am glad I said something here about needing tire deals!

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals and Sue! Well, the rain is gone, and the sun was out for a minute. We had 2" in my Yellow Submarine. Time to get some more cheapo fence gauges as a check, but they always agreed in the past. 3" and more many places in our area. Need the rain, but glad for sun, and it NOT being 50*! Time to put away the EzUp, and get the pool cleaned out again.

That's a fine looking stack Mark. I know it gets real difficult to find things that fit "old" space, much less how you really want them!

LOL! Thanks for the masonry compliment! They are just embossed concrete squares added a row at a time over the years. They actually look better wet and dirty! That CeraKote lifetime guarantee is you register with pictures might mean they give you a free one if it goes bad, but I'd take that in a second. Very easy process compared to others I've tried.

Ouch! I hope everything checks out well!

    NICE works, sir!

Yeooooooooooooooooowwwww! I don't envy you a bit Ken! I had "radar toe" after a huge stub of my big toe. He gave me a larger antenna, and said nothing about staying off it. The next few weeks of work were a pain in the toe, and it flat grossed people out.

Ouch is right!!! Hope your recovery is quick and uneventful, Ken!!

Lynn is very happy - she really loved having the warming drawer in our old unit so it was worth the extra $$ and effort to get one to atch up with the new over/microwave.

I had the other new sending unit(both new senders) mounted in a piece of sheet metal as a "mock-up" and plugged it into the sending unit harness in the trunk. Float hits the sheet metal for sure. With ignition on, and sender by itself, I can swing the arm and gauge reads empty to full no problem.
It'll be a matter of how much should I tweak the arm.

Right now 3/4 tank and below reads accurately. I may just leave it alone as 3/4 is a full tank and I never let it go below a quarter tank. And tweaking the arm may screw up the other levels in the tank.:bananadead:

Also learned a lesson. I flipped out the original sender with the old fuel tank. I should have kept it to compare arms.

Those little toggles are interesting. Do they use those to pull the pins?

Decided to amp up my fishing game.
Been doing the same thing for 28 years. Sight and visual structure.
I never “used” a fish finder for fishing as my transducer is in the back of the boat so by the time I see it, too late.so, mainly for keel depth.

So, now I have two fish finders. Installed a Garmin Striker 4X on the trolling motor.

let’s see how much trouble I can get into with this. Lol

Good addition Mike, now you will be able to see where the fish are that won't bite!
I've had fish finders for years, use them mainly for finding drop offs and maintaining constant depth while trolling. In the river they are nice, 8-7-6-5-4-3', OH OH, time to go to idle and start being really careful trying to find deeper water, that river will destroy props and lower units real fast if you aren't careful. Pretty well solved that problem with the jet, but there are big rocks just below the surface in most of the riffles, best to be careful going through them until you know where those jet foot busters are, then you can run them at wide open throttle.

Hopefully that cures the problem with your toes Ken, wishing you a speedy recovery

Spent some time today looking at some old photos. Thought I'd share a couple. Not sure they will go thru, tho. I scanned them and they came out as .gifs. I will try to load them and come back to edit if they do.fish-1.gif fish-2.gif

I apologize for the poor photography. I did them when I was in my teens, an eon ago.

The beer bottle was an imitation, about 4 or 5 inches long.

Been using fish finders and gps for 20+ years. They are great. I troll a lot mostly for trout and salmon. The FF helps me locate the fish and tells me the depth they are at. I just lower the down riggers to the proper depth, start my troll and fish on. I also find schools of striped bass in the California delta with the FF. And I can see and locate bait balls in the lakes.
I use them also for bass to locate depth and structure.
The combination of FF and gps is also great. While cruising if you notice a school of fish or some interesting structure just hit the “way point” button and it will save that exact location. You can return to within a couple feet of that exact location any time you want. You are going to love your FF, but there is a learning curve but the more you use it you’ll master it.
They are great in the dark also. At night while heading for home I keep an eye on both the gps to get me home and the FF to warn me of shallow water. Lastly after awhile I think you’ll want to get one with a larger screen (of course the larger the screen the more they cost) but the larger the screen makes them way easier to use.
Hopefully it’ll keep you out of trouble rather than get you into trouble.

    I’m a fair weather/day fisherman.
I’m mainly going to use it for drop offs etc. I waste a lot of time trying to find them again.
