Thanks Ken. It seems to be going away, finally

That's why I'm glad my kid's are good with computers.... if I have issues, I ask them for help. They pretty much grew up with them.

Don't think it's the flu, but it's always a possibility. But doing better today, Carl. Sorry your fishing outing didn't get you any more fishies....

    Thanks Kurt

I am not the best but I figure stuff out. Learned a lot yesterday. There is a difference between DDR3 and DDR$ memory modules, they are keyed differently and will not fit into the same memory slot. My CPU is not on the authorized list to upgrade to Win 11 and it really is not a good idea to force the upgrade. The entire process was easier than I expected.

Good morning. Off to the gym early and the Avalon will be getting new and better seat padding in the front seats. I need to be at the shop at 8:30 this morning.

I helped a girl that grew up with my son get a hunting rifle. It was my old 600 Mohawk in 243. Probably worth a bundle but I would never use it so it’s where it needs to be.

Hope everyone had a pleasant weekend.
Dropping off Mrs. SpruceMica's Odyssey at Honda dealer this morning for a seat belt recall. Apparently some have an issue with the seat belt latches

Good morning porch crew. Some rain this last weekend and it's starting to green up. After the long cold winter and cool start to spring, it's a good to see. Have a great week everyone. I didn't get all I wanted to get done last week but I got some stuff my bride wanted done also. We're both still not moving like we want. Her hip and shoulder and my shoulder slowed us down a bit. We find we sometimes have to help each other out a bit more with the small things and a lot more with the bigger projects it would be nice if we both weren't lame on the same left side.

    Morning all:

Good choice for a girl, light, compact, and not too much recoil. I had one .308 600 Mohawk NIB that I sold, should have kept it even though it would be sitting here NIB. The 600 and 660 Magnums are my favorites, and from what I've seen, the .350 Mags. are highly desired as scabbard guns in bear areas, and bring even more of a premium in those areas.
Think I paid $86 or $89 for the Mohawk on sale, I knew a guy that bought 10 of them at that price and then sold them off little by little as they went up in value, I think I sold mine for $400 quite a while back, today probably could get $850 NIB, some other calibers like a 6mm or .243 might bring that used.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Don't know why, but it's a Monday all right. Maybe it can do better as the day moves along. Would have rained on me anyway at yesterday's car show, and the San Antonio show Saturday is looking wet. Wet all week, matter of fact.

    Lovely spot there sir!

Put new front rotors and brake pads on the Tacoma - and gave the rascal a wash job. Oil change coming up soon. Our weather has been rather nice so far - cool eves and days in the 80's. Hope the temps stay down a bit longer, May is the month where we start to hit the 100's and I dread that siege as it seems to go on forever. It has gotten steadily hotter and drier here over the last 20 years.

Working on the yard gate, it was originally cedar on a steel frame - boards are too weathered and split to stay on the screws. Looked for replacements and the offerings at Lowes and HD are warped and split - can't even sort the pile and find 7 decent sticks. Found some redwood that will have to work. This time, I'm thinking I'll try a bit harder to get the gate's bottom "sweep" to work better. Too many rattlers got through the fencing last year and I've got the long runs done out back along the wash - so the gate is the remaining weak point.

My favorite ball player was Ted Williams. All he accomplished and managed to fight in two wars.
It was a travesty what his family did with him after he died.

Hard to see with the room reflection, but if you look under his feet you can see the autograph...it's genuine. I've got a smaller different photo that's autographed and a 1941 Life magazine with him on the cover and some other stuff from the '50s. Teddy Ballgame. John Glenn's wing man at one point during Korean War.

Had his family respected his wishes, they may have felt the sadness that I felt at respecting my own fathers similar wishes. There is no public record, no tombstone, nothing for the family or future genealogists to research. It’s one extreme or the other, nothing at all, or a pickled head in a jar.

We're still ratcheting up and down with the heat. Evenings have been great also. But we're looking at triple digits this coming weekend thru next Tuesday so it's coming.

    Good Afternoon Everyone.

Busy day, I made it over bright and early for my Neurology Appointment. The drug trial is going well; monthly blood, EKG, urine, and cognitive testing are good.

I went to get cash from an ATM, only to discover my card expired in January. I rarely need cash, so I was surprised it had expired over three months ago. So trip to
credit union to sort out what happened to the new ATM (plot twist, it was never sent out).

I made an appointment to address the Low-Pressure Warning tire light in my wife's car. My wife doesn't drive her Honda anymore, but the thought of selling "her car" is
hard for her to accept, so we use it for Doctor's appointments. Two years old, has two oil changes done, and has 4470 miles on it. I booked the appointment for 7 AM, with free coffee and
hopefully donuts, so not a chore. Wear slacks, a work polo shirt, and time to check in with my boss from a quiet corner. Life's good. He likes video calls, but I'm not fond of it from home.

The rabbits are doing fine. Bunny made a nest under our 1000-gallon propane tank. The dogs can sniff it but are on the other side of the fence. Finally spotted a tiny guy, brown brindle
    does an excellent camo job.

Birds have been busy. Mockingbird building under the pavilion. They crack me up as you hear a blue jay call, but just the mockingbird scattering everyone before hitting the birdfeeder.
Tufted titmouse busy collecting dog fur from the outside mat to weave into their nest. Keep meaning to bush the dogs outside so they have more fur. We had a pair that used to
groom our husky, the husky was amused and never bothered the birds, and they loved that soft fur. The Cardinals are back once again. Barn tail swallows out front, and my wife hates the mess but
I love watching them fly. I never use the front door, and they seem to nail any solicitors who disturb them, so I call them friends.

Sadly the redheaded sapsucker lost his favorite tree in the winter storm, so no sure if "woody will return" My wife thought it was a woodpecker, but neat rows of holes told us it was a
sapsucker. Tree lost 70% of its canopy during the storm.

Life is never dull around here. No need for TV, but I enjoy hanging out with friends who enjoy nature.

Haha.. bad timing from our electric supplier. They sent us a survey to fill out, about their service. It's only been a few weeks since we installed a generator, which should tell them something, duh. Plus, their guy shows up 4hr's late, started giving me the spiel about removing the meter seal, which we had approval from them to do. Having noticed a 101st. decal on his rear window, I got up in his face and said, "Just do your job, private... and DON'T lump us in with the crooks of the world!" Blank look on his face, I think I scared him. I doubt he learned anything.

my wife has an upcoming neurology appointment next week. What sort of testing should she expect?
The free coffee/donut from your Honda dealer… If like the Toyota dealer here, the “good will” generated by the freebie is completely destroyed by the issuance of a coffee voucher to be given in exchange for the coffee, with the Barista’s tip jar, stuffed with one$ & five$ sitting directly in front of you as you face her.
The usual dealer fix for a low tire pressure idiot light is to visually look at the four road tires, ignore the spare, and reset the warning light. Yes, I’m a bitter old grouch.
