LOL, passed that about 6-weeks ago while driving my son's cat to his new home in Miami. Geez, Parris Island "the land God forgot"; haven't been there since the mid-1970s; please tell your granddaughter "Semper-Fi" for me.

 

Good morning all. Was on a short vacay Thursday through Sunday and still catching up at work so I'm a little late checking in here. 1225 miles on the bike over our 4 day weekend. Got to spend time with some FJR riding friends from other states and even some of our Canuckistani friends from north of the border.

Just got my first harvest from the gift that keeps on giving! There is a wild asparagus plant on my property that was there when I bought it, I keep an eye on it every spring and always enjoy the wild asparagus that it produces.

 

Yeppers. never even had the urge to even stop. Tourist trap 100%. Kinda like Ollie's around us "Good Stuff Cheap" . Better places to spend my time and money.

I use the breast meat only . What I do is slice the breast in a little bigger than bite size pieces and use some poultry batter and fry in olive oil . I just gave half a breast to a friend and he is putting in a smoker . Apple wood .

 

Survival is number one for a turkey . Eye sight is unbelievable .

We let several people hunt on our property - I've never hunted. One of them has been here for turkey several days in a row. He's up im the woods. Meanwhile I looked out the bedroom window and 7 Toms were strutting their stuff in our back yard. To add insult to injury, the eventually walked over to where his car is parked and strutted right in front of it before disappearing up the hill.

I’ve always said the Mexican food gets worse the farther you get from Mexico. I tried my friends favorite Mexican restaurant in Massachusetts. Yogurt is not found in Mexico cooking that I’ve ever seen. Yet there it was.

My old friend from China says the Chinese food in America is way better than China’s because of the food standards we have. Fresh ingredients are the reason he quoted.

There have be been incredible advances in that field and in their medicines.

 

Yikes, I wouldn't go that far; my wife and I have both worked in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and the Chinese food here is vastly inferior to what we've eaten in Asia, and this includes the food we've eaten in the "China Towns" of Boston, New York, Chicago, and San Francisco.

Amazing how that happens, saw the same on the Broad Mt, cars parked in the SGL parking lot, guys back in the woods, and turkeys out on the path right in front of the parking lot gate!

One of the guys I drove to work with had a Mexican wife, he often said that the food at the Mexican fast food joints wasn't even close to what his wife made. After getting out of the service I got hungry for fish and chips and stopped at an Arthur Treachers, their fish and chips were nowhere near the "REAL" fish and chips that I often ate while in Scotland.

I often use the same brand seasoning for walleyes Bill, Louisiana beer batter seafood batter mix, good stuff!

Honda Service Appointment was quick and fast. I learned how to reset the low-pressure dash warning via the radio screen! Wtf?

The low-pressure light came on months ago; I checked and filled all tires to 32 PSI. Drove 20 miles, light never went off. Hmm.
The following day, the light was still on, and I checked the pressure again. 32 PSI all around. Hmm.

No little button under the dash to reset TPS (like my old Honda had). Hence made the service appointment thinking a TPMS sensor
had failed. Honda has only the dash light, unlike our Tacoma's with a PSI readout.

You go into the car radio and drop down about a half dozen screens to reset the warning light. Sheesh!

 

You need to read the instructions manual more!
Some of this stuff seems easy if you know how to navigate to it, I keep forgetting how to set the clock on my Chevy truck, NBD, I just let it where it is, half the year it's the right time, and the other half, it's one hour off!
