Does anyone remember the Z1 with the vertical doors (it lowered into the body)?

We had a prototype/test mule when I worked at Bosch (1980s). You had to be limber to get in and out of those door sills.

Mark - What drive train is in your Z3?

The ride to end ALZ is November 11th this year. That is a good reason to get out there and pedal 65 miles (not sure I'm up to the 100-mile ride this year).

Alright, all signed up in the Centex Wing! Got a short (long) tour of the museum rooms - darn there are a lot of little details to learn, but that's where I will start helping most likely. And the gift shop - I have computer skills some are "missing"! Be a long time, and several tests before I do anything like this:

    20230524_121456.jpg
I zoomed the pic - didn't go over there

But, I am always welcome to polish this any old time!

    20230524_121435.jpg

I'm in no rush. I am there to be useful.

Thanks for the condolences guys... Won't be the same when visiting them.

I had one on my '06 that chipped the paint on the edge, so when I got this one, didn't want to risk it. What pisses me off is the fact that it looks like they didn't prime the hood - which is making the paint peel more. Hope the doc's can get you fixed up.

sorry Carl - so they don't include late taxes on the next bill?? Seems like a crooked way to do business.

^ this a courtesy call would be nice

    evening all

Well crap! Over the past few months I’ve developed a slight growl on the drivers side front. I thought it was a wheel bearing. Today I was forced to change my brake pads due to the indicator squealing. As I rotated the hub I could hear the slight tap, tap, tap. I looked more closely to the sound and saw this puddle of grease dripping from the CV boot. It’s split. I know what the sound is for sure. It comes right from the inside boot when turning the hub. I’m driving to Yellowstone this weekend. It will last until I get home.

Cleaned the roof yesterday, first time this spring. When I start hearing acorns moving through the gutter system, it's time. Wife never fails to disapprove of me on the roof, bless her heart. We live at the edge of a woods, more than a few live oak trees, which drop their catkins (flowers without petals), and a boatload of seedpods this time of year. They cling to everything, cover the roof, vehicles, driveway, which attracts woodpeckers looking for a free meal. Worse this spring than ever. It's been wet lately, hard to pick a dry enough day. I'll do it as long as I can still handle my long ladder. They sell oak seeds online, fetch a hefty price, I should sell them and retire. Oh wait...

THX Tom. I will get around to donate pretty quickly. My dad had alz and it is always nice to donate and at the same time help you meet a goal.

As the saying goes "IF the girls do not find you handsome at least let them find you handy". Always nice to have the help of experts when you take on new projects.

Good morning. Today is grocery shopping. I also have a yard man coming over to give me a price to trim back som holly trees. I have used him in the past and he is economical. Crossing fingers for a decent price.

    Morning all:

Congrats to your daughter Dale on getting her Masters degree.

As I follow the car porn thread I don't remember seeing a Grandville Conversion 4-Runner pictured, anyone ever see one?
I had one, and only ever saw one other one, they must be somewhat rare. I had two of the old 4-Runners, an 85 and an 87, the 85 was the Granville conversion and I really liked those older 4-Runners, but when they changed the body style, I had no interest in them and switched to the Tacoma's.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Well, my shock appointments got rescheduled - friend moved to a new shop, got a new PO Box for parts, and USPS won't have a new lock in place for him until Friday afternoon! So, he can't get the parts from his own mailbox! Told him no one has ever used that excuse before! Oh well, mowing it is.

    FYI
Tell your friend that he can register the PO Box with a physical address. That way UPS and FedEx can deliver to the PO Box.
Postmaster can do that easily with a form you fill out.

Good morning all, I hope you have something fun planned for today. I hope everyone’s health is good and improving.

I’ve been busier than a one armed wall paper hanger doing some handyman and construction work. I thought I retired but I’m more busy than ever. I don’t have to work until next Tuesday. I have 2 back to back funerals today of friend’s parents. Then I’m playing pickle ball tonight. I’ve sure got into pickle ball. My sister is building a court so I can play for free. Right now it cost me $6 for an hour. An hour is just about enough though.

    Have a great day.

Good Morning Porch Folks . Late start on TW today but somedays you just have to sleep in :D.
Heading upcountry on Saturday to attend the funeral of our neighbor down the road. He was a good neighbor and kept an eye on the place when we weren't there. He was a Viet Nam Vet that had cancer from Agent Orange. What I didn't know was he was in the 101st Airborne, the recipriant of the Bronze Star, 2 Purple Hearts, several other medals and served on Hamburger Hill and was also a tunnel rat as well. And I thought I knew the man. RIP Larry and lovingly called "Meathead" by all who knew him.

Looks like an amazing chance Kurt. Post pictures of the planes. I have been to museums in Montreal and New Zealand and saw quite the assortment of planes.

:fingerscrossed: Hope it doesn't take a dump on you Bryan.

CONGRATULATIONS to your Daughter on her graduation with her Masters Dale :yay::yes:. Congratulations to you and your wife for making that happen for her :woot:.

    Have a good day all.

Condolences to the family of your neighbor, sounds like in his mind he was just someone doing his job, a salute to him and may he RIP!

Just got done siphoning the gas out of the one boat, I do that every year and then run it in the lawnmower. I always add Star Tron to the gas when I put fresh gas in it and never had a problem, it is all gas and not an oil mix since it has the oil injection on the motor.
