Anyone ever hear of "Gooch grease"? I never did, but thanks to the puter I am now educated as to what it is!
Seems like some men are now wearing maxi pads to catch Gooch grease and dingleberries , come on now, just let men be men and smell like men!

OK, got a reply from Sunoco customer service and got the address where to send the warranty info., and they said they would issue a gift card----NO, NO, NO, have always got a check to cover the cost of the replacement battery and why is that changing, they then said they would issue a check, will see! I could get a new battery now, but think the one in the car will make it through the summer, so in maybe 4-5 months when I get a new battery, I will submit the required paperwork and see what happens.

 

Three years on the best battery you can buy is almost the limit here. We will see if this fancy Optima beats that.

Morning all:

Walmart's EverStart MAXX carries a 3 year replacement warranty, looks like at one time it was 5 years. Most everything I have ever read say that Walmart batteries are good batteries.
The last battery I put in the 66 was a Deka, I drove about 40 miles one way to purchase it at their manufacturing facility, I just saw there is a Deka outlet that's a little closer, might check that out.
Off to get the Tacoma inspected this morning.

Good morning all. Got the pot brewing up that first eye opener.

 

I bought a rebuilt title Corolla several years ago with a three year battery in it... and I just replaced it... ten years to the month. And the guy at NAPA said it would charge up and recommended checking the alternator. (alternator checked out, so glad I replaced the battery.)

 

Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Mowing day. And new 2 GPH, self cleaning drips to try in the greenhouse. We're inching toward our first 100*, probably have to fit some pool time in there.

 

Sorry, I mean three years is good life expectancy, outside in the Texas extremes. Not the best warranty you can find. They used to last longer; seems to be doing OK in the RAV4.

 

I don't know when it changed... but we always sold batteries by how long the battery was expected to last, not warranty replacement times. I talked to a kid when I called around to price batteries and he didn't even know that batteries could be expected to last beyond a warranty.

 

I had a couple of car batteries limp to 7 yrs., but the original battery in the garden tractor lasted either 11 or 12 yrs., I usually had to charge it after winter the last few years, but it then kept cranking away all summer, apparently they can make batteries that last well past the advertised months, if they want to!
