I am still shooting ammo from my stock purchased during the Obama years when there was word of a pending ammo shortage. Pretty darn expensive now to replace and it keeps getting more
complicated to purchase ammo in California.

Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!! Another day of Canadian Wildfire air quality alert yesterday. Toda shows a circle of clear air over us but surrounded by air quality alerts all around us.

I still prefer a 1911 frame in .45cal - stocked up years ago and still have a pretty good supply. Prices have really skyrocketed, though. The only 9mm piece I have shoots 9mm luger.

    Enjoy the day!!!

Good morning everyone, have a great day! Stay safe! Seems like the smoke air quality warnings are hit and miss here, depending on or winds. We hear you guys in the north east are getting it almost every day.

    Morning all:

Going on a short trip shortly with a buddy to look at a top for the Scout that he bought, those things used to be all over the place, now not so much.

Sounds like it's time to get a progressive reloader for those pistols, even then it costs a bundle to get set up to reload!

I have a heat gun and will use it. Probably on Thursday.

I have tried Acetone, but it did not work at all. I will try Laquar thinner and a heat gun. With the use of a heat gun this is turned into a driveway project.

Good morning. Another Aquatic therapy appointment then off to the ear doctor. I think my right ear has some sort of infection or it may be a sinus condition. It is going to be a busy day. At least my Friday opened up with the ear doctor moving the appointment from Friday to today.

Saweet ... I never got to carry one active duty. Our sidearms were S&W 38, then the Beretta 9mm. Qualified but never shot expert with handgun; shot M16 expert from basic on. But then I grew up shooting rifles and shotguns from 10yo up. Traded a Ruger Redhawk 44 to my BIL for a 1911 frame (RIA) 9 yrs ago...suddenly "hey, I can shoot a pistol decent." Happy moment in my life. :)
    I have two 1911s now, 45 ACP and 10mm.
    Thanks for sharing Colonel. :hattip:

    Good Morning Porch Folks.

Had more Canadian smoke in our area as well. Wasn't as bad as we previously had, but still calling for air quality warnings.
Have hopefully final doctors appointment for my foot this morning then PT this afternoon and a haircut this evening...life is exciting when you get older :D.
    Have a good day folks.

Nice 1911's Mark. They are one pistol that as always been on my wish list but I have never got one...yet.

Nice collection Rob. I didn't get involved in shooting until I was in the service. As an Aviation Ordinance petty officer we maintained the base armory that consisted of 1911's, .38 revolvers, .22 Rugers and of course (at the time) riot gear, night sticks and helmets. Shot all of the pistols and had range time for training.

Datum Bill . That is a flood but the pool,is still standing:thumbsup:

    Have a good one folks

This might interest you. I'm thinking about trying to get one, but other $ priorities right now; probably over the Winter. Would make a nice "stocking stuffer" ... don't you think? :santa:

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/handgunners. I did some pistol shooting in my 20's, had a couple of coworker friends who were really into it and kind of dragged me along. Once I changed jobs I lost interest. Can't hit the side of a barn with pistol or rifle, which might be why it never took hold.

They've been paving our little road for the past 3 weeks, which is pretty amazing considering that it's less than a mile long end to end. I thought they'd be done in 2 days! Anyway the trucks bringing in macadam have to clean out their beds after dumping their load in the paver hopper; the drivers pull away from the paver, tilt the beds, scrape out the remnants, then shovel it off the road. One of them did that right in front of our house, where there is a french drain I've been careful to keep clean and open. A big black splat right in the middle of my nice clean riprap! I was a little bit ticked off, but after all it really belongs to the township and not to me so I couldn't see making a fuss. I still figured I'd try and clean it off at some point. Wonder of wonders, the township crew is outside right now doing just that! I'm going to have to take some doughnuts over to the township building.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Didn't get very far yesterday, but I didn't have very far to get! Dawdled my putz, skipped the pool, and straight to the shower. Going to try to get the replacement foam insulation in the greenhouse gable today.

That is one of Kristi and my "agree to disagree" topics. To the point we agree to not discuss it.

Yes they do ... but I would not change a thing. Her and the Air Force are still the best decisions of my life.
