I made a dump run this morning. Love, love, love going to the dump. Came home with a 14MM socket which we all know is the right size for the oil plug on a second gen. (Also the Corolla) And also scored three darts and a 3 inch (?) clamp plus several other sockets. Several trips ago I loaded up seven perfectly good rail road ties. They go for about 30 bucks each here. I still haven't found a use for the brand new half horse electric motor with the bad switch I found a couple of years ago.

I've been thinking about putting a sign up at the local grocery store saying I would haul anything someone has for the price of the gas used. People around here load their garbage up and dump it in the foothills because they don't want to drive ten miles to the FREE land fill. We have a nice little valley we like to hike in and when we first got here there were probably twenty tires and ten separate piles of trash. It cracks me up how people will go into the foothills to dump trash... and instead of dumping it in the existing pile they will SEARCH for their OWN PLACE to dump their own garbage. Making lots of piles instead of one... So we gathered all the tires into one pile close to the road and picked up a couple others... and started talking about the garbage we were finding (including animal carcasses during hunting season) and pretty soon it must have gotten around that the "gentiles" (non-Mormons) were cleaning up the trash in the hills and other piles started disappearing and even the pile of tires vanished.

A little something every chance we get.
:plane: Hey, did much better in the shop today, even though the AC in the room was out. We had the doors propped open, and a nice, low humidity 95* breeze coming through! It was actually better than last week when the AC was just being not cold. So, I made progress on the old motor, but it is very reluctant to let me "finish" a specific task. But I did make a mess - found another place for it to bleed oil. And the AC was fixed by noon.

Progress is progress, after all! Found the first two allen hex head screws. Not that there have been any others....

Speaking of progress, milestones have been hard to come by!

Hiya Sue! :hattip: Wish I could find the sprinkler emoji, because we are going to finish the month with 0.13". And 0.02" for July.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

We got 3+ inches of rain Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Lots of flooding and road washouts. Our road is OK, just a lot of gravel washed along the sides.

Love the way you built the custom speaker enclosures!

My 09 only has 142K on the clock. Put a lot of miles on it early going to work and taking my son to school for 2 years.

Good morning and a happy Thursday. Hit a new PB on the recumbent bike in the gym yesterday, 7.88 miles in 30 minutes. Today is grocery shopping day with a trip to BJ's club and Harris Teeter planned.

    Good Morning Everyone!
    Enjoy your Day.

Eye doc today and finish up a house I've been working at, 2 new garage entry doors and replace rotted brick molding that caused some other unexpected wood and material. Had to stop some water from further damage to the sheeting. House wrap is good if applied properly.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! It must be mowing day again; if there is a bright side, despite the twice weekly watering I am allowed, the growing has slowed considerably. And the sun has taken its toll on a couple of patches that are pretty brittle.

Here's a surprise! Amazon wouldn't publish my review of the Gates counterfeit serpentine belt! Probably something about that "C" word.... funny stuff.

    Morning all:

Mowed 3/4 of the property yesterday, got up early this morning to hit Walmart for a few items, then went to quarterly est. tax paperwork, then cleaned my big front window, need to finish mowing, weed Wack again, trim hedges, get some wood ready for starting the coal stove, vac. the truck, clean 2 fans, check all screws and shoot the crossbow to make sure nothing changed, spray hunting clothing with permethrin, air up cart tires, pick up the blower motor and install it when the shop calls, make an appointment and get the 66 inspected, and start getting archery gear together, nothing major, but lots of little projects!
