Lights look good Tom, when I saw your temp wiring, reminded me of what we found in the daughters house when we were doing some rehab work...the asshole they bought the house from had connections like that hidden in the walls. He also used extension cord wire when he ran out od 14-2 cable:eek::eek: what amess we had. Got it all straightened out now.:D

Great news Mark:thumbsup::woot:I know your inlaws were with you, how did their house survive?

Good to hear they are safe and sound Jim, it's going to be a long road back to normalcy for alot of people...but at least they are still here to take that road...God bless the souls of those lost and prayers to their families:pray::pray:

Started Phase 2 today. Basically removing the light over the kitchen sink, measuring to cut piece of oak paneling, wiring up LED strip and installing,

Picture af area after fixture was removed. I have also removed the two small pieces of panneling.

    DSCN7761_880bd425c99db639843d99b46ae48d1e49087c87.jpg

I actually started on part of phase 3 today as well. Wife gave me the green light to install a dimmer for the undercabinet lights and an extra outlet by the sink area. Bought the electrical hardware and two new faceplated.

I cut the valance for over the stove to fit today as well.

I was able to sand and stain all wood pieces to match the cabinets . I ned to let them dry then look at them in daylight. I did a sample and the color match looks spot on. I did put a second coat of stain on the valance to darken it up a little bit. Once the stain is dry I will hit it with a satin coating to match the cabinets in gloss.

    Pic of stained wood.

    Good morning Ken.

The sun is finally out here in Maryland. Wife was happy with the color match on the stained balance for over the stove top. Today will be installing switches and running power cable to the other side of the sink.

We also have Holloween to remove, leaves to rake, lawn to mow, laundry to wash, and a trip to the grocery store.

Hi Tom, sounds like you need a 36 hour day to get all your work done...I just hooked up our new desktop PC...had file association problems with our old one but it was still useable until we lost power. When power came back, the missus plugged the surge protector plug back in, the PC wouldn't turn on. Power supply took a powder:eek:. Unit was at least 6 years old sooo time to upgrade. Got a Lenovo with windows 8 and so far(only been playing with it since 6:30 this morning. Once I get the hang of it, it will be easier. The sun is out so I will be out looking for the break in my garden light cable. Had a couple of concrete blocks in our front walk replaced and when they were taking out the old blocks I think they cut the cable accidently. So I have an easy day...Can't even go to the gym cause they have been closed all week due to lack of power...Hopefully this week they'll get it back. Still no Boats...

Evening now. Only thing I did not get to was running the wire. I will do tht tomorrow in the AM. I did get the switches installed and outlets replaced. The dimmer works great and I added a duplex outlet in the outlet that used to house 2 switches.

    Afternoon all: :spy:
    Just catching up on posts.
All is well, thanks for concern!

Just got power turned back on aboutm 45 min. ago.
The coal stove and springhouse saved my butt. The house was warm, and I had plenty of water.
Spent the better part of 4 days cleaning up branches and sticks, and now have another mess from PPL cutting their way in to restore power. And; now looks like a Noreaster is headed this way. :facepalm:Just hope that none of my trees cause ANOTHER power outage. The neighbors will really hate me, especially since they just got their power turned back on.
Just seeing pics. of the coast. Those people really got hammered by this storm. We got nothing compared to them.
Time to recharge some batteries, and put snow tires on!

    Evening all:
Getting caught up, snow tires are on!
Easier to clean up trees than post pics!

Here's why myself and all the neighbors were out of power.
Also the springhouse that makes life alot easier, when theres no power. Glad to have it.
Good to hear that Mark, Tom, and Ken made it OK. More of a PIA than anything.
A huge tree went into a house in town. No tree service would come to remove it, finally they got a crane to support it as they cut it away from the house.
At least that house can be repaired, and wasn't destroyed.
